Lifetime presents its All-African American cast version to the classic 1989 movie, "Steel Magnolias". Starring Queen Latifah who plays M'Lynn (which was played by Sally Fields), Phylicia Rashad who plays Claire ( formally played by Olympia Dukakis), Adepero Oduye stars as the lead role Clairee’s daughter Annelle (formally played by Daryl Hannah). Jill Scott plays Truvy (formally played by Dolly Parton), Alfre Woodard as Ouiser (formally played by Shirley MacLaine) and Condola Rashad as Shelby (formally played by Julia Roberts).
The cast also features supporting roles by Lance Gross, Michael Beasley and Tory Kittles. Steel Magnolias is expected to premiere later this year on Lifetime.
