NEW YORK, N.Y. -- When Beyonce proudly unveiled her pregnancy bump at the MTV Music Awards back in August, she kept mum about a due date, but the Internet is abuzz that she is now ready to give birth.

According to Media Take Out, two nurses at St. Luke’s Roosevelt hospital in New York City told the website earlier this week that the medical facility was expecting a “Celebrity VIP.”

The website also reported that the celeb has booked half of the labor suite.

The nurses could not confirm the patient is Beyonce, but that hasn’t stopped outlets from Britain’s Daily Mail to ABC’s “Good Morning America” from reporting on the rumors about Beyonce’s delivery.

According to the Mail, Beyonce’s mom, Tina, and her sister, Solange (with son Julez), were spotted shopping in New York City on Thursday, adding more fuel to the fire.

And on Friday, Britain’s Mirror newspaper, reported that Twitter is a flutter with rumors that Beyonce actually had the baby – and named her Tiana-May Carter.

A rep for Beyonce did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Access Hollywood on Friday morning.

Other stars who’ve given birth at St. Luke’s include Oscar winner Natalie Portman and Alicia Keys.

(NEW YORK) — After a customer backlash, Verizon Wireless on Friday dropped a plan to start charging $2 for every payment subscribers make over the phone or online with their credit or debit cards.

In a statement on its website Friday, the company said "customer feedback" prompted the decision to drop the "convenience fee" it wanted to introduce on Jan. 15.

Verizon wanted to steer people to electronic check payments, which are cheaper, and automatic credit card payments, which are more reliable.

A petition on Change.org against the fees had gathered more than 57,000 names by Friday afternoon, a day after Verizon, the country's largest cellphone company, announced the fees.

Payment processors for power companies usually charge "convenience fees" of up to $5 for every payment made by phone or online, but cellphone companies haven't taken the step yet. The furor against Verizon hints that they may have to wait further.

Verizon Wireless serves 91 million phones and other devices on accounts that pay the company directly, and more who pay indirectly through other companies. It's a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc. of New York and Vodafone Group PLC of Britain.

What does it take to end an almost eight-decade long relationship? The revelation of an affair 70 years earlier.

According to the Telegraph, an Italian couple, listed in court documents only as Antonio and Rosa C, are about to become the world’s oldest divorcées, ousting the 98-year old British former title holders. What lead to the demise of the long-lasting relationship? Seems that Antonio found love letters in an old chest of drawers that his now 96-year-old wife had written to a lover way back in the 1940s. He showed his wife of 77 years the letter and immediately demanded a divorce. When confronted with the evidence of her affair, Rosa confessed her long-ago infidelity. While Rosa seemed to hope that the confession would allow her to reconcile with her husband and the father of her five children, instead Antonio filed for divorce at the age of 99.

The couple, who met during the 1930s when Antonio was a young Carabinieri officer posted to Naples, have a dozen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and eight decades together. Those ties that bind were apparently not enough to overlook the affair. According to the Telegraph, the couple’s relationship also hit a rough patch ten years ago, leading Antonio to move out of the family home and move in with one of his sons. Last time, the couple were able to reconcile after a few weeks. Hopefully Antonio will reconsider his decision this time, as well.

Sadly last week we reported about a case where a man took to killing an elderly woman via burning her alive in an elevator over money she owed him.  Updated information about that case revealed that the man (shown below) Jermoe Issac was actually hired by Deloris Gillespie as a way to help him make ends meet in his life.

Family says,

"The 71-year-old had hired Jerome Isaac to do some chores in her Brooklyn apartment."

"For someone to set someone on fire – that's ridiculous!" he said. "I mean, what is this country coming to?"

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at the First A.M.E. Zion Church in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.

The family says it doesn't have enough money to pay for the service or other costs related to the death.

Jerome Issac later turned himself in and stated that, "she owed him money" where as, it was reported that Mrs. Gillespie had told neighbors that he was stealing from her.  Issac's now faces first-degree murder charges for his criminal act in cornering Deloris Gillespie in her complex elevator as it opened and dousing her with gasoline, then setting her ablaze as she screamed, all of this was caught on surveillance, as he walked away wearing an exterminator's mask and gloves.

According to a recent interview, both Jennifer and Evelyn have not been speaking and that Jennifer feels no animosity towards Evelyn.  Quiete interesting enough, Jennifer also didn't deny a spiff between the two that involved Evelyn channeling her inner gangsta boo and swinging at Jennifer with a handbag.

Yeah I don’t think its any surprise that yeah we don’t speak [...] If you follow me on Twitter, I don’t do subliminal tweets. I don’t throw jabs at my friends. I just kind of feel like even if were not speaking or whatever the case is like if you have my phone number, just text me or whatever. You know what… (Laughs) I don’t think I can confirm or deny, but I just want to say this. I think anybody that has tuned into Season one through three knows that I’m definitely not a fighter, that’s not even in my character whatsoever. You definitely won’t find me fighting in Philippe Chow and I’m just going to leave it at that.

On whether she sees herself being friends with Evelyn ever again

Anything is possible, to be honest with you. The whole reason why we’re not speaking, I think is really trivial. And I feel like there’s a bigger issue [...] but honestly, I don’t have a problem with Evelyn she has a problem with me and at this point I’m like listen ‘whatever your problem is I can’t be bothered like I’m trying to do bigger and better things’. I am at a point in my life where I’m getting rid of all the negative energy in my life, including my soon-to-be ex. So my thing is like nobody is exempt at this point and if your bring some negative energy and drama in my life like I am good.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Grammy-winning singer Etta James, who has been deemed terminally ill with leukemia, has been hospitalized in California and placed on a breathing machine, her long-time manager and friend said on Friday.

James, 73, best known for the blues ballad "At Last," was taken to the hospital near her home in Riverside, east of Los Angeles, earlier this week because she was struggling to breathe.

"They took her to the hospital. She was having trouble breathing, so they intubated her. She is on a breathing machine and is resting," Lupe De-Leon, the singer's manager for 30 years, told Reuters.

The singer has been in failing health for a number of years and suffers from leukemia, kidney disease and dementia but had previously been cared for at her Southern California home.

Her live-in doctor said last week that James was considered terminally ill, and that she communicates mostly with nods and simple words.

The three-time Grammy Award singer earlier battled obesity and was addicted to heroin for many years.

"It is really sad. She is like my sister," De-Leon said on Friday.

James was a key figure in the early days of R&B music with hit songs like "The Wallflower" and "Good Rockin' Daddy". But it was her 1961 recording of "At Last" that put her on the map.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A 9-year-old autistic boy who misbehaved at school was stuffed into a duffel bag and the drawstring pulled tight, according to his mother, who said she found him wiggling inside as a teacher's aide stood by.

The mother of fourth-grader Christopher Baker said her son called out to her when she walked up to him in the bag Dec. 14. The case has spurred an online petition calling for the firing of school employees responsible.

"He was treated like trash and thrown in the hallway," Chris' mother, Sandra Baker, said Thursday. She did not know how exactly how long he had been in the bag, but probably not more than 20 minutes.

Mercer County schools Interim Superintendent Dennis Davis said confidentiality laws forbid him from commenting.

"The employees of the Mercer County Public Schools are qualified professionals who treat students with respect and dignity while providing a safe and nurturing learning environment," Davis said in a statement.

State education officials said they were investigating.

Chris is a student at Mercer County Intermediate School in Harrodsburg in central Kentucky. The day had barely begun when his family was called to the school because Chris was acting up. He is enrolled in a program for students with special needs.

Movie bosses behind The Hangover sequel are facing legal action from the Louis Vuitton fashion house over a purse carried by Zach Galifianakis' character in the hit comedy.

Executives of the French brand have filed a lawsuit against the makers of The Hangover Part II alleging a handbag seen onscreen in the hands of Galifianakis is a Louis Vuitton fake.

The legal papers, filed at a federal court in New York on Thursday, state fashion bosses are unhappy with a scene in which the actor carries a bag with a LVM logo and says, "Careful, that is a Louis Vuitton".

They claim the bag is not a real Louis Vuitton and could cause confusion among consumers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Louis Vuitton bosses want the scene to be cut from the film, while they are also demanding a share of the movie's profits.

U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) has written a formal apology to first lady Michelle Obama for disparaging her appearance during a recent chat at a Hartford church.

"I regret my inappropriate comment and I have sent a personal note to the First Lady apologizing," Sensenbrenner said in a statement Thursday. His office declined to release the letter.

The veteran congressman made reference to Michelle Obama's "big butt" while talking to a group of church members at a Christmas bazaar at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Hartford earlier this month. He was suggesting it was hypocritical for her to launch a national campaign to combat obesity.

Senior Justin Richardson (pictured left) is being called a hero after helping to break up an attack of a teacher against another in the hallway at his local school. To make a bad situation worse the hallway was full of people who just stood by and watched:

Mr. Knowles and Radio One are at odds and Radio One is over it, according to Concreteloop, they are pulling music by all and any artists currently signed to or associated with Knowles' music company, Music World Music, this includes gospel artists such as, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and others.  Supposedly this is also in association with a breaching of an exclusive deal at the Essence Music Festival, which TV One sued Mr. Knowles over.

A Radio One rep stated that:

“All Radio One personnel were told to pull all Music World artists out of rotation immediately and indefinitely!  We were told that the mandate came straight from Ms. Hughes and that there would be ramifications for anyone playing or mentioning a Music World artist or song on air.”

And that,

“Radio One owns at least 12 gospel stations across the country – that’s the majority.  It’s hard for artists to sell CD’s without radio airplay!  Right now Music World definitely isn’t getting any from Radio One,”

Looks like it's time for the artists with Music World Music might want to seek other enclaves because sadly, now they will be affected too.<

In an unsurprising move, NBC will check the songs that The Roots play on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" from now on. This move is in response to the band's decision to play "Lyin' Ass B****", by Fishbone, during Michele Bachmann's appearance on the show back in November.

According to Amir "Questlove" Thompson:

It was kind of wrong for me to throw (NBC) under the bus without telling them what it was, so I understand from a business standpoint...It's still a comedy show, so they promise not to step on my toes or that type of thing, but they definitely want to know the title of the song, the subject matter of the song, can it be seen as an insult? It completely makes sense that NBC would do this; they need to cover their behinds. That said, it was pretty funny and only endeared The Roots to me even more.<

The NAACP is petitioning the UN due to the mounting efforts in many states to restrict voting rights:

The NAACP contends that the America in the throes of a consciously conceived and orchestrated move to strip black and other ethnic minority groups of the right to vote. William Barber, a member of the association's national board, said it was the "most vicious, co-ordinated and sinister attack to narrow participation in our democracy since the early 20th century" (Source: The Guardian)

According to the article, the many measures being taken to suppress voting rights could lead to an estimated 5 million eligible voters being barred from voting in next year's presidential election. Many of the voters are most likely black and Hispanic.

...of the 12 battleground states that will determine the outcome of the presidential race, five have already cut back on voting rights and two more are in discussions about following suit.

Some measures have affected those who use "early voting", which tends to be used mostly be African Americans; also, there's also the issue of photo ID requirement to vote on the day of the election:

Studies have showed that the proportion of voters who do not have access to valid photo ID cards is much higher among older African-Americans because they were not given birth certificates in the days of segregation. Students and young voters also often lack identification and are thus in danger of being stripped of their right to vote.

Apparently, in Texas, a law was passed that prevents college students, with only college IDs, from voting; however, in the same state, folks can vote if they show their concealed weapon permit. Go figure.<

A 10-year-old Mexican girl has given premature birth to a baby boy weighing 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds), Mexican media outlets reported.

The mother was initially admitted to Hospital de la Mujer in Puebla, located about 60 miles southeast of Mexico City, on Oct. 22, suffering from seizures and other medical problems. Surgeons at the hospital delivered the infant by Caesarean section after a 31-week pregnancy.

According to UpFront News, hospital officials have confirmed the birth.

Hospital director Rogelio Gonzalez told The Latin American Herald Tribune that the child is in the neonatal intensive care unit, recovering from pneumonia. The mother, who has since been released, has been breastfeeding the child.

"[She] comes every day with her mother to breastfeed her son every four hours and she is recovering very well from her surgery," Gonzalez said.

The young girl, who is almost 11 years old, is reportedly from the San Francisco Totimehuacan community. According to Gonzalez, the state's minimum age of consent is 12 and abortion is illegal unless the mother was the victim of a sexual assault. As a result, the Puebla state Attorney General's Office has been notified of the birth and is investigating. The agency did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Huffington Post.

Other girls have given birth at that age or younger. In August 2010, an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her stepfather gave birth after she was denied an abortion because she was in her fourth month of pregnancy, ksee24.com reported.

The youngest mother on record for giving birth is Lina Medina. According to Mid Day, she was five years old when she gave birth to a baby boy in 1939. The father was not positively identified.

In regard to this most recent case, Gonzalez told aciprensa.com he has the "best expectations" for the child's recovery.<

45 year old Walmart shopper Alisha Halfmoon was arrested on charges to manufacture methamphetamine on Thursday. She allegedly grabbed the ingredients she needed off the shelves and started mixing the chemicals inside the store KJRH reports.

Loss Prevention alerted Tulsa Oklahoma local police after they noticed that Halfmoon had been in the store for six hours and was exhibiting suspicious behavior. When officer David Shelby confronted her, the suspect had allegedly just finished mixing a bottle of sulfuric acid with starter fluid.

While speaking with the firefighters on the scene she made statements saying that she was attempting to obtain chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine but she wasn't very good at it.

Officer Shelby stated that Walmart is known for their low prices but she couldn't afford to buy the ingredients.<

Karen Freeman-Wilson, 51, knows that the third time is the charm better than most folks. Wilson tried twice before to become mayor of the city of Gary, Ind., in 2003 and 2007, and lost.

In November, however, the Democratic Harvard Law graduate overwhelming won the seat with 86 percent of the vote.

The mayor’s seat was vacant after Rudy Clay decided not to run for re-election.

“It’s an honor to make history, any way you make it,” Freeman-Wilson said.

In 2000, Freeman-Wilson was appointed Indiana’s attorney general by then-Gov. Frank O’Bannon, after Jeff Modisett resigned to take a private sector job in California. After serving the remaining 11 months of Modisett’s term, she ran to remain in office and lost to Republican Steve Carter.

Freeman-Wilson fine-tuned her message and has emerged as Gary’s great hope to bring about change. She became a pioneer in the process, as Gary’s first female mayor and the only African American female mayor in the state of Indiana.

And her responsibilities are daunting; once again Gary has topped the FBI’s list for murder rates per capita.
