The officer, Michael Daragjati, 32, an eight-year veteran, stopped a 31-year-old man on Targee Street in the Stapleton neighborhood on April 15, prosecutors said.

According to AllHipHop.com, rapper Cam'ron has formed a new joint venture with Queen Latifah and business partner Shakim Compere.
The company named KFU Productions pulls together Jacob York's Killa Films and Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Films, both of which are teaming up to produce the movie "Percentages" starring Cam'ron himself.
As previously reported, Latifah's Flavor Unit is also responsible for the VH1 hit "Single Ladies."
Speaking on the new film, Jacob York released a statement saying,
“Cam did the story, and then we brought in a writer to really tighten the script. The movie was originally supposed to be the follow up to Killa Season, but we decided to make a brand new movie since the script was so good.”
No word on the next film Cam'ron may be starring in.
<<< We know Queen Latifah knows how to bring a hit to the table (think Living Single), but I'm not sure about Cam'ron. Whatever the case, I hope this venture brings more quality Black movies to the screen, and opens up more doors for Blacks in the entertainment industry. We sorely need this...

Tone Loc collapsed on stage during a performance in Atlanta last night (10/15/2011) ... TMZ has learned.
Loc's manager tells TMZ he was suffering from exhaustion. Loc was transported to a nearby hospital and given an IV ... but the manager says he is fine now.
TMZ received emails from several people claiming to be present at the concert who said Loc suffered from a seizure, but we cannot confirm this.
The manager added ... Tone was merely exhausted from doing 12 shows in the last two months. It does seem curious that doing a show on average of once every five days would lead to such extreme exhaustion.
Loc's episode comes just a day after rapper Rick Ross was hospitalized TWICE in one day for seizures.

DMX told TMZ he has finally kicked the drug addictions that kept him behind bars for years — and he has his children to thank.
“Everyone was taking advantage of me with my finances, trying to put me in the direction to fail. I have 10 kids. I have to drive them in the right direction, so I let the cocaine go.”
The rapper born Earl Simmons says he is working through his addiction from a spiritual place, and looking to avoid the negative pitfalls that have sent him spiraling out of control in the past. ”I am on a spiritual road to do right in my life. I am leaving out all negativity and going to stay on the right road to positive,” he said.
“When [DMX] first came to my church he looked broken, sad, and full of struggle. Now you see a dramatic change. You see that the drugs and alcohol aren’t in his life,” said Simmons’ pastor.
It was great to see DMX killing it at the BET Awards. If he is able to fight off those old demons, his sobriety could serve as a beacon of light for those who feel defeated by their addictions. I pray he wins.
<<<<< Wow! I had no idea that DMX had 10 children! My question is why is he now kicking the habit for his children. While I realize drug addiction can be an extremely hard battle to win, with many relapses for some, I would think he would have tried to kick the habit for them long ago.
Regardless, I truly hope DMX stays on the straight and narrow this time. Maybe setting a good example for his children and his faith will give him the motivation he needs to stay clean for good. And maybe he can get back to making the great music he's known for...

At least one form of arthritis or its related conditions (osteoarthritis, lupus and gout) affects more than one in five adults in the United States — generally more women than men, with the exception of gout, which tends to affect Black men more.
If you have arthritis, joint pain can dramatically interfere with your quality of life and the ability to do those everyday activities you once did with ease. But there are easy, everyday things you can do to help provide some relief...in addition to consulting with your doctor, of course.
Exercise
Arthritis and exercise may not seem like a natural match, but staying active can definitely help your joint pain. “Joints are meant to move, and when they move they’re lubricated,” says physical therapist Patrice Winter, PT, MS, of Fairfax Physical Therapy in Fairfax, Va. Even arthritic joints benefit from motion. The key is to know your limits, Winter says. Understand the range of motion available to you and don’t push past that limit, or you can end up increasing joint pain. And skip the weight-bearing exercises — water-based activities are ideal, especially in warm water.

We must warn you these videos are a bit shocking to watch. While I do not condone violence of any kind, it was clear that the cashier was defending himself although it took a turn for the worst. I don't care how much some lesbians think they are men, please keep in mind that you are still a woman and some men don't give a damn and they will beat you down! I feel sorry for all parties involved although I still say the cashier was defending himself.
According to CNN:
A cashier at a New York fast food restaurant has been charged with felony assault for beating two unruly customers with a metal object during an argument, after cell phone video captured a scene in which one customer climbs across the counter in an apparent attempt to reach the store employee.

Some folks have no shame I tell ya! According to MSNBC News Anamicka Dave of Roswell, NM was arrested by Roswell police officers posing as sellers and is now facing charges.
Police say that Dave posted an ad on Craigslist looking to buy drugs. Dave's ad on Craigslist's "casual encounters" section said she was new to town and "looking for Mary Jane," KOB-TV reported (http://bit.ly/pe2HY2).
Roswell police Sgt. Ty Sharpe said that the ad was so blatant that he thought an undercover agent had posted it.
"I was really surprised that someone would actually put on there that they were looking for weed - an actual illegal product to the fact that I called my boss to make sure it wasn't one of our guys trying to do a reverse sting," Sharpe told the station.
Police met the Albuquerque woman in a parking lot and then arrested her.
It was unclear if Dave had an attorney, and a message left at a phone listing for her wasn't immediately returned Wednesday.<

I had a feeling this was coming. Not that I wished ill will on the show because I wanted to like it I really did but it seems to be missing something. Yahoo News and the Associated Press says
according to ABC its revamped version of the 1970s hit "Charlie's Angels" is being shut down after only four airings because of low ratings.
The network said Friday that four more episodes remain to be aired. The action series focused on three female detectives in Miami.
But the reboot has struggled in the ratings since its premiere last month. It's ABC's first cancellation of the new fall season.
The original "Charlie's Angels" aired for six seasons on ABC and launched one of its angels, Farrah Fawcett, as a major star. More recently, two feature films were also produced.<

Today is not a good day for Ricky Rozay!
Sources at the first medical scare and ready to proceed with his flight to Tennessee.
Not so much now.
Just two hours ago, Ross tweeted, "#Memphis here I come... http://www.twitvid.com/L5EHL," with a twit video of him boarding the private jet and a message to fans promoting his latest album that's soon-to-be released.
But shortly after, the plane was diverted and landed in Alabama after Rick had a seizure on board.
A representative for Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport confirms, "There was a private plane that was routed here for medical purposes. This plane didn't go through our main terminal. We have a fixed based operator called Atlantic Aviation that handles our general aviation (private planes)."
Atlantic Aviation tells E! News, "No one is at liberty to discuss this."
The Fox affiliate in Memphis tweeted that Yo Gotti will perform in Ross' place for the event Memphis Madness.

"Da plane, da plane!" Like my reference LOL? There is something about planes that cause people to loose their marbles these days. With all the questionable things some airlines do its understandable but in this particular case I think Whitney was doing too much.
Sources at E! News say that the singer bit the head off of the flight attendant who simply asked her to buckle her seat belt. Although this is a standard regulation before taking flight she refused to do it and it almost got her kicked off the Delta flight.
A source close to the star told E! New that, "She was not drunk or on drugs, she is in the middle of filming a movie and flew across country to attend a charity event and return to filming. She was exhausted."
Ohhh, it all makes since now, the woman was tired is all. Luckily, she allowed one of the crew members to fasten her seat belt and the plane was then cleared for takeoff.
Delta Airlines says they are looking further into the situation but that they "cannot comment on passenger or itinerary information."
We know the seat belt can be a little restricting and annoying Whitney, but safety first, girl!

This is all I am going to do with the whole Beyoncé pregnancy conspiracy. If it's true, that this is a farce, I'm just shaking my head at it all, but like many I'm hoping we are all proven wrong. Now how could we be proven wrong? *Kanye Shrugs* I have no idea but I'd rather not sit in while she gives birth, that is not our place and that is too much information and frankly its crossing a line, but, dang it if I don't want to be that fly when she "reportedly" gives birth in February. LOL
Wendy Williams breaks it down for us with the whole conspiracy and she does it so well, that I'll leave it up to her, enjoy and comment on what's your thoughts about this all. Watch the video below.

Most people, when caught in the cheating game, will swear up and down that they didn’t intend for it to happen, or that it was just a mistake. I beg to differ. I think most people, men and women, know they’re going to cheat before they do it. They know it the moment they spot the person they want to cheat with. Take me for instance, I love my husband dearly, but there are four men out there, that if they approached me, I’d cheat with the quickness. My admission leads one to ask a few questions, one in particular. How can she say she loves her husband, but would be willing to cheat on him? I love my husband, I do, but I swear if Idris Elba or Adam Rodriguez said ‘Nikki, you can get it’, I’d be on my back before they finished getting the words out. Does that mean I don’t love him? No. It just means that sometimes my physical needs outweigh my senses…well when it comes to those two men mentioned above and at least two more who I won’t name!

I wonder if he was sagging...hmm? Nigerian Born Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has pleaded guilty to the act of terrorism through the usage of his body as a weapon of mass destruction (remember that term...yeah). Abdulmutallab was caught attempting to bomb Northwest Airlines Flight 253 (kind of makes you wish it was United Airways with all the discrimination that's been going on) through hiding a bomb in his boxers. Thankfully the bomb did not detonate and he was apprehended before any lives were lost.

Yes you read correctly, a woman by the name of Marni Kotak who is a Brooklyn, New York based artist has the web buzzing about her bringing the act of childbirth into the art world.
According to Yahoo News: Marni Kotak is planning to turn Brooklyn's Microscope Gallery into a birthing center for the next five weeks as part of her performance art piece titled "The Birth of Baby X." Kotak giving birth in public is just the beginning. After the birth of her child, Kotak will embark on an 18-year project called "Raising Baby X," where she'll document her child's upbringing until college with weekly video podcasts.
Kotak says that, " Giving birth, the greatest expression of life, is the highest form of art."
Oddly enough although she is sharing her child's life online, she has a "deep-seated disdain for Facebook" even though she has a Facebook page to keep up with her family and friends. The web is torn on her labor of love. Some bloggers say that she is abusing her child by putting her vision before her child's safety, others say that she is pushing the boundaries of the art world as she should. What are your thoughts?<

"It was just one dead end after another. At one point, I was, like, 'What would happen if I just didn't wake up?' That's how I felt. Like, 'Maybe I should just take my life?'"

Bring on the haters! Rihanna is going to piss some people off with this one! She says she no longer dislikes Chris, and, in fact, she's a big fan of his and is happy for his success.
According to Billboard.com:
Rihanna says she resented Chris Brown for a time, but has put that behind her and is happy that her former boyfriend has found success in music again. Rihanna tells Esquire magazine that disliking Brown "was taking up too much of my time" and that she has moved on from that. "It was too much anger," the 23-year-old said. "I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career." Brown, 21, is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony assault for the attack on Rihanna in the early morning hours before the 2009 Grammys. "

Their back! The Best Man gets a green light for a highly anticipated sequel. Now this could be either good or bad. We all know how Hollywood is right now, with horrible writers, producers and directors, I hope they don't destroy a good thing.
According to Hip Hollywood:
At Universal Pictures, there is so far no movement on another Bridesmaids, but the studio is moving to the altar on another wedding-themed comedy sequel. Universal has set Malcolm D. Lee to write, direct and produce Best Man 2, a sequel to the 1999 film. Lee wrote and directed the original, a comedy in which a writer (Taye Diggs) is preparing to be the best man for his football player buddy (Morris Chestnut), but the timing is bad because the writer’s autobiographical novel is about to pop and it describes how the best man bedded the bride. Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan also starred. The original grossed $35 million. Lee’s plan is to ask the original cast to reprise; in fact, I’m told the whole idea came out of a reunion dinner he held with most of the cast members, and they sparked to the idea of a re-team and so did the studio. CAA reps Lee.
So who do you think is getting married this time? Que? Julian? Here's to hoping for the best!

With the help of Essence, we're going to run down what we think are the ten things holding women back in the bedroom! You be the judge and let us know your thoughts on if we are on to something!
1. Not being fresh! <<< O.O After seeing this as #1 that's the way my face was stuck! Come on ladies! Now I know we get caught in the heat of the moment, but if you've been running around all day, you know you may need to Summer's Eve that thang before trying to give him some!
2. Stopping in the middle of it! <<< I mean seriously, who does this? Who stops in the middle of sex just because? I mean if it's hurting you then, yes, you have every right to stop! Or if it's so good that you just need a minute to catch your breath, then sure! Otherwise, this is not the business!
3. Giving too many instructions! <<< In other words, talking too damn much! Sometimes a man just want to hear you moan and squirm underneath him because of all the good loving making he's putting on you! He doesn't need you yelling out asinine instructions, especially if he knows what he's doing. So STFU and enjoy!

Kansas City police have recreated how an abductor may have gotten inside the home of a 10-month-old baby who disappeared from her crib last week. Investigators spent several hours Sunday at the home of baby Lisa Irwin, pushing in a window screen and entering the house through the window. Detectives also went door to door asking neighbors about a local handyman who hasn't been seen since the infant, NBC News reported. In addition, investigators used metal detectors to scan the family's yard, and again searched a local landfill in a hunt for clues to the baby's disappearance.

I don't know what to say or feel about this. It's such a tragedy and I'm wondering what prompted this teacher to hang herself in her classroom. Whatever it was I'm sorry that she felt she need to go this route.

A tiny rural town in southern Illinois is in shock after a kindergarten teacher hanged herself in her classroom earlier this week. Linda Walker, 45, was discovered hanging in her classroom on Monday afternoon by one of her coworkers at Tri-C Elementary school in Carterville, about an hour east of the Missouri border. The teacher performed CPR on Walker before emergency crews arrived and rushed her to a local hospital, the Southern Illinoisan reported. She died Tuesday morning.

Buffalo, N.Y. – Candy shaped like marijuana that's showing up on store shelves around the country won't get kids high, but aghast city leaders and anti-drug activists say the product and grocers carrying it represent a new low.
"We're already dealing with a high amount of drug abuse and drug activity and trying to raise children so they don't think using illegal substances is acceptable," said City Councilmember Darius Pridgen. "So to have a licensed store sell candy to kids that depicts an illegal substance is just ignorant and irresponsible."
The "Pothead Ring Pots," "Pothead Lollipops" and bagged candy are distributed to retail stores by the novelty supply company Kalan LP of the Philadelphia suburb of Lansdowne. It also wholesales online for $1 for a lollipop and $1.50 for a package of three rings.
Company president Andrew Kalan said the candy, on the market six to nine months and in 1,000 stores around the country, promotes the legalization of marijuana.
"It does pretty well," he said.
"This is the first complaint I've heard," Kalan said, "and people are usually not shy. I'm actually surprised this is the first."
An irate parent brought the candy to Pridgen's attention, hoping the city could apply pressure and get it out of stores.

Finally some kind of justice will be served in the death of 7 year old Aiyana Jones, who was shot during a raid on her home on May 16 of last year. According to clickondetroit.com:
A Detroit police officer was charged Tuesday in the death of a 7-year-old girl who was shot during a raid on her home. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Detroit Police Officer Joseph Weekley is with involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm. A not-guilty plea was entered for Weekley, who is a member of the Detroit Police Special Response Team. "He knows he didn't do anything wrong," Weekley's attorney, Steve Fishman, said. "He knows he was acting as a police officer in a dangerous mission." Aiyana Stanley-Jones was killed May 16, 2010, after officers searching for a murder suspect lobbed a flash grenade through a window and stormed into her family's first-floor flat. Police had said she was sleeping on the couch when she was shot in the head after Weekley's gun fired accidentally. A film crew with the A&E Network's "First 48" crime reality cable TV show was shadowing Detroit police on the raid. A photographer and producer for the series, New Yorker Allison Howard, is charged with perjury. Specifics on her involvement were not immediately given.

Like the heroines of her novels, Leslie Esdaile Banks pulled off the impossible.
No she didn’t hunt down vampires, find Prince Charming, or solve the murder. She did something MUCH harder – she successfully lived the writer’s life.
She used her magical gift for storytelling to transform the mundane details of life into gripping epics, whether the tale was a romance, crime thriller, supernatural odyssey, or family drama.
The result was an opus of more than 40 novels and 12 novellas that landed Esdaile among the rarefied ranks of authors on the New York Times and USA Today best-selling lists. Her work also earned her the

So according to the Associated Press and Huffington Post, Tyree Appleberry of Albuquerque, NM pretended to be a police officer and happened to pull over an actual police officer. He claims that he was only asking what the man was doing in the parking lot next to the place of work. *Strong side eye* See article below:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Associated Press / The Huffington Post) -- Police say a New Mexico man pretended to be police officer and is facing a misdemeanor charges after he pulled over a real Albuquerque Police Department detective.
According to police, the 42-year-old turned on his strobe lights on his white Chevy Tahoe in an attempt to stop an undercover officer.
But Tyree Appleberry said he was not impersonating an officer and was instead asking the driving why he was in the parking lot next to an auto auction yard where his friend works.
"At no time did I say I was a cop, did I pretend to be a cop, did I badge anybody. At no time did that happen," Appleberry told KOB 4.
Authorities say Appleberry had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court for a reckless driving charge.
A spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department told the news station that the arresting officer made the choice to charge Appleberry with a misdemeanor instead of a more serious felony charge.<

The Norwegian Nobel Committee honored the three women "for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women's rights to full participation in peace-building work."
"We cannot achieve democracy and lasting peace in the world unless women obtain the same opportunities as men to influence developments at all levels of society," the prize committee said.

How in the world does a whale beach its self not on the shore but in a field?! According to The Daily Mail this is a young female Sei whale which is a rare species and even rarer that it beached on the banks of the Humber estuary.

A 33-foot-long dead whale was recently discovered in a marsh half a mile inland near the English village of Skeffling. Biologists suspect that this is a female Sei whale that became beached after being caught in a particularly high autumn equinox tide. Explained Kirsten Smith of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust:

If you catch VH1 on Mondays like some of us at SS do so we can get that weekly dose of f*ckery, then you would have noticed that Kimsha Artest is no longer around. According to NecoleBitchie.com:
Last week a fake Facebook account posing as Kimsha Artest went off on ‘Basketball Wives’ stars Shaunie O’Neal and Evelyn Lozada with Los Angeles Lakers baller Ron Artest speaking out shortly afterward, letting the world know that talking trash on Facebook isn’t his lady’s style. The hoax did, however, bring focus to the fact that Kimsha has been mysteriously absent from ‘Basketball Wives L.A.’ in the past few episodes.
Of course you know Ms. Evelyn would speak out since she's a media whore. No one even mentioned her on the fake Facebook page, but you know Evelyn needs the spotlight. Anyway peep the video below as Kimsha explains her departure.
Now peep what the execs over at VH1 had to say in response. Basically they backed up the reason Kimsha said she'd left in so many words.

When? Where? How often? What about Black women, who are not only more susceptible to developing breast cancer at earlier ages, but are also at a higher risk of having malignant tumors misdiagnosed...or diagnosed much later?
Especially if you're a woman, you've probably been told to prepare for your first screening mammogram around the time of your 40th birthday and then to have one every year (in some cases, every other year) after that. Note: that's just for routine mammograms; breast lumps always require a mammogram and/or other tests to start diagnosing whether it might be breast cancer.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Controversy
But in November 2009, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) updated its screening recommendations and said that women of average risk for breast cancer could wait until age 50 to start getting mammograms and then follow up only every two years, rather than annually. The revised USPTF mammography screening guidelines marked a sea change from the recommendations being made by nearly all major medical associations, including the American Cancer Society, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
These new guidelines set off a heated debate within the medical community and don't match up with most other mammogram recommendations from major medical organizations.
"We're having the scientific arguments back and forth and in the meantime, women, in a sense, get caught in the middle," says Len Lichtenfeld, MD, deputy chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society.
It was widely reported, however, that the USPSTF was against screening entirely for women with an average risk of breast cancer between the ages of 40 to 49. That wasn't the case, says Diana Petitti, MD, professor of biomedical informatics at Arizona State University and vice chair of the 2009 USPSTF committee.
The actual recommendation was not communicated well, according to Petitti. "The decision about the age to start being screened at 40, 42, 44, 48, should be one that was more individualized," she says, rather than a woman's 40th birthday triggering an automatic authorization slip from her doctor to get a mammogram.

ESPN has kicked singer Hank Williams Jr. to the curb after he compared President Obama to Hitler.
Says ESPN, in a statement: “While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize he is closely linked to our company through the opening to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”

Williams, perhaps best known for his “are you ready for some football?” lead-in to ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Monday compared this summer’s so-called golf summit between Obama and House Speaker John Boehner as “one of the biggest political mistakes ever.”
As Williams put it on Fox News’ Fox & Friends: “It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu.”
When asked on Fox to explain his analogy, Williams said Obama and Vice-President Biden are “the enemy.”
Although ESPN has a policy about its on-air personalities getting involved in politics, Williams has said he’s interested in running as a Republican in 2012 for a U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee.
<<<<< Kudos to ESPN for taking a stand on this issue! While I think the station was only following policy, it's good that decisive action was taken without the need for viewers to threaten a boycott. And what was Hank Williams Jr. thinking comparing a BLACK man to Hitler??? He got exactly what he deserves. Goes to show you, anyone can be replaced. He'll probably end up on Fox News...

<<<< This brings a whole new meaning to the term 'cardio protective'! And I would bet anything that the woman's husband is regretting asking her to get those implants now.
Moscow surgeons have operated the woman, who had been attacked by her own husband. The man stabbed his wife in the heart, but the knife stuck in the woman's silicone breast, which saved her life.
The bizarre story about a new function of silicone breasts - body armor - took place in the family of a 40-year-old female Muscovite. The woman had a fight with her husband, and the man grabbed a knife in a fit of anger, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper wrote with reference to plastic surgeon Sergei Blokhin.
The family fight would have ended with the woman's death if it had not been for her silicone implants.
According to the surgeon, the woman's husband asked his wife to enlarge her breasts five years ago. The woman agreed. The surgeon examined the woman carefully and offered to try size four implants. The client happily accepted the offer.
During the fight, the man stabbed his wife in the left breast. He was apparently trying to kill her since he was targeting the heart. However, the knife did not even reach the thorax because of the large breast implant.
The medics used state-of-the-art implants filled with gel-like silicon. The content of the implant did not leak, and the breast preserved its original shape.
The woman went to the clinic again after the incident and had her implant replaced with a new one.

In the pages of his potentially game-changing self-published book Murder Rap, set for release Oct. 4, former Los Angeles Police Department Detective Greg Kading reveals that LAPD has been sitting on extensive tapes and documents containing confessions from key players behind the alleged assassinations of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. LAPD higher-ups pulled Kading off the double investigation right when he was poised to drive it home, he says. Then they shut it down completely.
An informant tells Kading in a taped confession that he was offered $1 million to kill Death Row rapper Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight, the label's former CEO. The informant then tells his interrogators in plain language, albeit at a cool street clip, that Sean Combs -- then known as Puff Daddy, the ringmaster of Bad Boy Entertainment, Death Row Records' bitter cross-country rival -- commissioned Shakur's legendary murder in Vegas in September 1996.
In another stunning confession, detailed in LAPD documents reviewed by the Weekly, the mother of one of Knight's children, identified in Kading's book as "Theresa Swann," breaks down in tears, stating that the former Death Row boss gave her the money to pay Wardell "Poochie" Fouse -- Knight's close associate and a fellow member of the Mob Piru Bloods -- to kill Smalls.
Read the full story, "Cop's Book Says Sean Combs, Suge Knight Ordered Tupac and Biggie Killings."
<<<<< Well, now...I wonder with this book coming out, if the investigation into Tupac's death will be re-opened. I've always found it ironic how they never found his killer, and I've always wondered if some sort of cover-up was going on. It's not like Diddy, P. Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy, or whatever name he goes by nowadays couldn't afford to buy some people off. *Sits back and waits for the fallout.*

Anderson Cooper said he is 'very saddened' by the teenager's unexpected injury and condition.
Anderson Cooper's three-week-old daytime talk show "Anderson" is already generating buzz - and this week's show snafu is one for the books.
A teenager who was meant to appear on the show as part of a segment on the teenage mind is reportedly in a coma after taking a spill on a skateboard - while filming himself for the show.
"As part of our routine process, we ask guests for video footage and photos," a rep for the show said in a statement. "[But] we did not provide the family with a camera."
The youngster was reportedly encouraged to "film the crazy stuff you do" on-camera by producers for the segment on wild teens, but a severe head injury and consequent coma prevented him from making his way into New York to speak with Cooper.
The talk show host, 44, extended his condolences to the teen's family in a statement once he heard the news.
"I was very saddened to hear the news of this accident, and want to express my deepest concerns for the teenager who was injured," he said.
"I take this situation seriously, and my thoughts and prayers for his health, well-being and recovery are with him and his family."
<<<<< First of all, let me say my condolences go out the the teen and his family. Second, I'm kind of disappointed with Anderson Cooper's new show. I know he needs ratings, but this type of sensationalism was bound to bring trouble to his door sooner rather than later, it always does...

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Omaima Aree Nelson, a former model who was convicted of killing her husband and eating his remains in the early 90s, is now seeking parole, say authorities.
Nelson, who immigrated to the United States from Egypt in 1986, was convicted of second-degree murder and received a sentence of 28 years for killing William E. Nelson, 56, in their Costa Mesa apartment, reports CBS affiliate KYTX.
Prosecutors say Nelson killed her husband of less than a month, on Thanksgiving Day. She cooked his head and his hands. She then attempted to get some of her ex-boyfriends to help dispose of the rest of the body parts.
Nelson told authorities that she was under severe stress and her husband often physically and sexually abused her. She was found to have post-traumatic stress disorder in a psychological evaluation.
She will face a parole board in Chowchilla State Prison next Wednesday.
<<<<< This is really a WTH??? moment. Bad enough she murdered him, but cooked his head and his hands, and ate them! How's that for Thanksgiving dinner?

<<<<< In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I think it's important for women to know the facts regarding breast lumps. Since many women will experience at least one lump in their lifetime, and only 5-10% of breast cancers are hereditary, women need to be aware of the truth. PLEASE READ!!!
About 40% of women will discover a breast lump at some point in their lives. Although a lump doesn't necessarily mean cancer, what women do immediately after that discovery can mean the difference between survival or not.
So what do you need to know if you find a breast lump?

Over the years, and half of my teenage years, the in thing was to be independent. Every woman, (because of this Destiny’s Childs hit and a few others) was screaming I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T! For the longest, I assumed this was a good thing. No man wanted a lazy woman who depended on him for everything, right? At least that’s what I’d heard around the way. My thoughts were that men loved an independent woman, one that could hold the house and him down if necessary. I mean what man wouldn’t want a woman that made just as much money as he did, drove just as expensive car as he, and could pay for a night on the town when they’d go out occasionally, right? WRONG! For black women it seems that declaring your independency status is a curse! Yes, there are black men that cringe when they hear those words, well that particular word, leave a black woman’s mouth.
But wait…didn’t my ‘single’ mother teach me as a young girl that it was always good for a woman not to ‘depend’ on a man for anything? “Why mama?” I would ask. Her reply would be, “Because he can jump stupid at any point. No matter how much he’s claims to love you baby, especially when there’s new pussy afoot!” Now at first this didn’t make sense to me. “Why can’t I depend on a man who says he loves me, mama? Shouldn’t I be able to?” And she would just look at me and shake her head. “You’ll understand it one day baby. One day…” So my young mind would be left to try and figure out just what she meant by that. But as the years progressed and I was able to get wind of the relationships she’d had to suffer through, I was able to learn just what she was talking about.

In an article on abc.com President Obama gets right to the point, telling the Republicans to tell him what part of the American Jobs Act bill they have a problem with.
In his weekly address, President Obama pressed Republicans in Congress to justify their opposition to his $447 billion jobs bill and reiterated his plea for them to “pass this jobs bill.”
“Some Republicans in Congress have said that they agree with certain parts of this jobs bill.” Obama said. “If so, it’s time for them to tell me what those proposals are. And if they’re opposed to this jobs bill, I’d like to know what exactly they’re against. Are they against putting teachers and police officers and firefighters back on the job? Are they against hiring construction workers to rebuild our roads and bridges and schools? Are they against giving tax cuts to virtually every worker and small business in America?”
The Senate is expected to take up the bill next month and, while the president continues to urge Congress to pass the American Jobs Act in full, the White House has said Obama would accept a piecemeal approach to passing the legislation if Congress rejects the package in full.
“Economists from across the political spectrum have said that this jobs bill would boost the economy and spur hiring. Why would you be against that — especially at a time when so many Americans are struggling and out of work?” Obama asked.
But, the president argued that this “isn’t just about what I think is right. It’s not just about what a group of economists think is right,” it’s about what Americans want and need.
To make his case, Obama highlighted letters he has received from Americans struggling in this economy, including a small business owner, a young woman eager to go to college and a mom who worries about driving her children across a decaying bridge on their daily ride to school.
“These are the people who need a win, and I will be fighting for this jobs bill every day on their behalf,” he said. “It is time for the politics to end. Let’s pass this jobs bill.”
I can understand the President's frustrations. Seems as if all the Republicans do is whine and try to find fault in everything without really stating exactly what they have a problem with. Either tell me what the problem is so we can come to a solution or shut the hell up and pass the bill!<

This man has had a love for the spoken word at an early age. He began secretly writing sermons and plays, and rehearsing his sermons in the style of the Late Bishop C.L. Franklin. He loved the feeling of power that words, with the right anointing, can do for someone. He began writing poetry at the age of 11. Years and overflowing notebooks and journals later, he joined "The Live Poetry Society of Daytona Beach" (A poetry group dedicated to free expression), and formed a group of writers known as the 5 Deadly Pens, a group that not only wrote poetry, but also short stories and songs as well. He is also known as Bad Boy #2 , one half of the dynamic duo 'The Bad Boyz of Poetic Works' and 'The Bad Boyz Kitchen on Blogtalk Radio', and are now the 2010 National Poetry Award Winning Bad Boyz Kitchen! He currently resides in Germany, is married, has one cat, and can be found most days writing or sleeping (must be nice - LOL). So join us Saturday at 8 pm EST as we get into the head of Renard Yearby, and we find out just what makes him tick. He took on the role of poet back in 1987. It all started with a few love letters to his high school sweetheart. Soon the letters he wrote became poems. Every time he got the urge to write something it had to be poetic. He has written poems and stories on such topics as love, and the broken hearted, including the good times, bad times and loneliness. Since 2008, he has penned a few rather violent/angry pieces...all imagination of course. And a couple of abusive pieces, which required him to live vicariously through the victims. Join us Saturday as we interview Dr. Shirley Simeon, author of the controversial book The Other Woman, a candid and entertaining memoir about her intriguing life-story where she has had more wives than husbands. Dr. Simeon recalls her personal experiences growing up in Chicago, forty years working in the fields of education, social work, and psychology, being married to the same man twice, raising two sons, and having passionate, substantive relationships with a variety of accomplished women. She has spent a lifetime proving her belief that love is not gender specific and that labels for the sexual preferences of individuals are meaningless. Dr. Simeon, the first person in her family to to graduate from college, was the first Black woman to graduate from Loyola University Chicago in the class of 1946. She holds a Masters degree in sociology and a doctorate in psychology. Her career and travels took her to Brooklyn to study the library system, to San Francisco during the feminist movement, and back to Chicago, where she worked for Mayor Richard M. Daley and then opened a private counseling practice. So meet us Saturday, at 8:30pm EST as we interview this fascinating lady, and remember to tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend about us! See you there!
