Truth or Fiction: WTF?! Tyga booty pops for Goons?

Via a fan request, this was sent to me to post. Now, I hate to post anything from Mediatakeout because well, you know if you are a fan of the site, we can't verify what's true or not, but this post, is interesting and kind of disturbing if it's truth.

What happens after concerts definately needs to stay behind scenes and someone needs to invest in security because clearly you not hard dude.  Was Tyga really booty popping for goons? When supposedly he's a goon himself? Or some form of thug?  Oh and he's cheap too.

Well according to Mediatakeout, that may be the case,

"Tyga was hungry after his concert, so we took him to a diner. The waitress came over and asked ‘who’s paying for the food?’ Tyga pointed his finger at me in a feminine way and said 'he is'.

I just paid him 15K and he’s acting like that. I was going pay for everybody’s meal, but this Tyga guy is cheap.

The same time Tyga got up with his doggie bag, some thugs approached us. They pulled out handguns. I thought they were going to stick us up, but instead they asked Tyga to dance.

It was funny to see Tyga dancing with his doggie bag under his arm. While Tyga was dancing he said 'Oh my god, what's going on'."

So ah Tyga....so you fancy huh?

Seriously SensualUS Weekly Reports:

The singer, 44, and comic actor, 50, “are seeing each other and very into it,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding that the romance started up four months ago.

The Tower Heist star — who has eight kids from previous relationships — even cheered on the mother of two (who’s been separated from singer Keri Lewis since 2009), backstage at her Feb. 19 L.A. concert.

While Braxton’s rep insists “Toni and Eddie are just friends and have been fans of each other’s work for a long time,” the insider says, “Their kids have met and everything. It’s getting very serious.”

In addition to first wife Nicole Mitchell, Murphy dated former Spice Girl Melanie Brown from 2006 to 2007, and exchanged marital vows with Tracey Edmonds in 2008 in a “symbolic” ceremony that was never made legal. Back in the late 1980s, Murphy was linked to another big-voiced R&B superstar: the late Whitney Houston.

Braxton’s search for love after her split from Lewis was a major plot point in the most recent season of her reality show Braxton Family Values.

Bernie Mac will forever be one of this times recent comedians to be remembered as a legend.  Recently Bernie was remembered in Chicago with a street naming memorial in the neighborhood of Englewood, where he grew up.  Several big names showed up, including Jesse Jackson to speak at the venue.

Huffington Post reports,

About 200 people, including his widow Rhoda McCullough, daughter Je'Niece McCullough and the Rev. Jesse Jackson, gathered Tuesday on a corner near the home where he grew up.

Je'Niece McCullough says she hopes renaming the street Bernie Mac Street reminds people "they can do whatever they want to do in life."

Mac, born Bernard McCullough, died in August 2008 at age 50 from pneumonia complications, after suffering from sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease

Bernie will always be remembered for his comedic style reminiscent of the great Black comedians of past and for his network hit "The Bernie Mac Show".  Watch the first pilot of the show below:

I have to commend Tyler, he has been moving around recently with his philanthropy and 'Good Deeds'.  He recently helped a local pastor here in Chicago with his effort in tearing down an old motel that was a playground for dealers, prostitution and violence, and turning it into a community center for the local neighborhood.  Now Tyler is taking on a missing persons case in Florida involving two men of color last seen with a deputy and using his celebrity to help the family of the missing men.

The Clutch reports,

Eight years ago two Florida men, Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos, vanished. Although they didn’t know each other and went missing weeks apart, they had one thing in common: they were both last seen in the back of Collier County police officer Steven Calkins’ police car.

After taking both men into custody, Steven Calkins claims he dropped them off at a local convenience store before they went missing, but according to an investigation, Official Calkins failed a polygraph test that asked about the men’s whereabouts. In spite of being the last one seen with the men and failing a lie detector test, he was cleared by police officials of any wrongdoing in both cases.

Congrats goes to Kel Mitchell for his recent walk down the aisle.  Yes, Kel Mitchell, you remember from Nickelodeon's All That, The Kenyan and Kel show? Good Burger? Yes, him, the one who loves orange soda.  Well the better comedian of the duo (in my opinion) is a grown, he's 33, a father of two and now a married man...for the 2nd time.

Wow how time has passed. I'm wondering if orange soda was at the wedding.

According to Madame Noire:

On Jan. 8 Kel jumped the broom with his beautiful bride Asia Lee, a female rap artist who goes by the name “Queen of Cali.” After the ceremony he tweeted about his matrimonial bliss, writing:

“My wedding day on sunday was everything I dreamed of! My wife is so beautiful! God is so good! I thank him for blessing me with her!…I cant stop smiling! Thank you Jesus!”

This is actually Kel’s second marriage. He was previously wed to Tyisha Hampton-Mitchell for six years before they got divorced in 2005 and he has two kids from that relationship, a daughter named Allure and son, Lyric. Nowadays, he’s affiliated with burgers in a different way, spending his time as owner of  several Wendy’s  franchises outside of Biloxi, MS.

Congrats to the beautiful couple!<

As the celebration of Black History Month comes to an end, we are reminded that President Obama urged us to get back to our roots. The White House Community Partnership Summit, held earlier this week,  offered workshops and opportunities for those interested in researching their ancestral past.

Author-presenters, Anita Paul; Lt. Commander, Michael Henderson (ret. USN); Carol Murray, of Dekalb Visitors Bureau; and Latoya Harrison, rolling out; were four of the presenters at the affair. Ms. Paul, a writer-coach, explains that she wrote the book, The Author’s Midwife, to help others give birth to their family’s story. Lt. Henderson, began his ancestral research 30 years ago. He appeared on PBS seeking geneaological assistance into his own families past. He stated that, “We (blacks) have to tell our own story and not allow others to tell your story for us.” Ms. Murray stated that the Dekalb Visitor’s Bureau hosts Reunion Planning free of charge.  Reunions are an excellent place to gather family background information. Ms. Harrison, presented her family’s heritage quilt which displayed significant examples of research documentation and encouragement for those who viewed it..

Others who havere searched their past: Henry Gates, Blair Underwood, Oprah Winfrey and Emmett Smith.

Could Viola Davis' Oscar Loss Mean Better Roles Ahead?

  • Written by Ms. G. Parris

Viola Davis did not win the Oscar for Best Actress, losing to Meryl Streep. But, it is possible that Davis’ greatest work is ahead of her. More often than not for actresses, winning the Oscar does not equate to a more elevated career.

Ask former winners exactly what does an Oscar win get you? and the answers from Meryl Streep and Marisa Tomei would be very different. Even as she gently slides into the unpopular actress age range for Hollywood, Streep’s talent and three Oscar wins still deliver her the choicest cast and crew, the freshest scripts, and the most sought after roles. But, Tomei would probably give a big “eh” in regards to the so-called better days that the little gold guy is supposed to bring. While Streep beat out stiff competition for the best actress Oscar (her 17th nomination!) for her mesmerizing role as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (The Iron Lady), Tomei is decidedly not nominated for her so-so role as Ida Horowicz, a reporter for the New York Times, in The Ides of March.

Perhaps back when Elizabeth Taylor was racking up nominations and statues the back end of a win bore more of an upside. More likely, though, the Oscar doesn’t really bring a recipient anything more than a night’s notoriety. After all, Hattie McDaniel earned her gold statue for Gone with the Wind (1939) long before Taylor’s era and it did very little for her career. There were no expanded roles or opportunities. McDaniel was often at odds about her choice in film roles with civil rights groups, particularly the NAACP. She argued that there was little choice, stating that she’d rather make $700 per week playing a maid, than being a maid for $7 per week.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that there are several deadly diseases that strike Blacks harder and more often than they do other groups, particularly whites.

What are the ones affecting us the most? And more importantly, how can we better fight back?

First, here are the top seven diseases to keep in mind…

• Diabetes. 60% more common in Blacks than in whites. Blacks are up to 2.5 times more likely to suffer a limb amputation and up to 5.6 times more likely to suffer kidney disease than other people with diabetes.

• Asthma. Blacks are three times more likely to die of asthma than whites.

J.R Smith Reportedly Fined $1 Million by Chinese Team

According to a report from NiuBBall.com, recently added Knicks guard J.R. Smith was fined over $1 million for missing practices with his Chinese Basketball team Zhejiang Chouzhou.

A report published by NetEase states that Smith had $1.06 million deducted from his salary over the course of the season for missing practices. Most of the missed practices came during preseason.

“This was the arrangement when he came to the team,” said Zhao Bing, the general manager for Zhejiang Chouzhou. “Every practice we let him know. If he expressed to us that he wasn’t going to come to practice, we’d tell him that in accordance with our contract, we’re deducting money from your salary. And he’d always get back to us with, ‘Whatever. If you’re going to take it, then just take it.’”

So not only was Smith accused of faking injuries and abusing the amenities offered by his overseas team, he was also pulling an Allen Iverson? Well, not according to Smith, who denied the report that he was fined that amount by his former team. "Not even close," Smith said Wednesday.

Smith was recently signed by the Knicks for a prorated portion of the $2.5 million veteran’s mid-level exception to solidify their back court. Hopefully Smith has learned a thing or two about saving money.

Hollywoods Black Herstory: Have Roles for Black Women Evolved in the Past 73 Years?

  • Parent Category: News
  • Published on Saturday, February 25 2012 12:16
  • Written by Ladydragon

As Oscar weekend approaches, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are the favorites, respectively, to win this year’s Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards. Having two black women poised to sweep the actress Oscars might seem like progress for Hollywood–but here’s the irony: The parts they are nominated for, from the box-office hit The Help, are that of maids. If either receives the trophy, it will continue a legacy of black women winning the award for portraying “the help” that dates all the way back to Hattie McDaniel, the first black person to win an Oscar with her 1939 Best Supporting Actress award for “Mammy” in Gone With the Wind.

What exactly does this say about Hollywood, which recently came under scrutiny because its Academy voters are overwhelmingly white men? It might suggest that, within Hollywood cinema, black people are ill-represented except as stock characters. In the past, such characters included faithful “Mammys” and “Toms,” buffoon-like “Sambos” and “Coons,” sassy and loud “Sapphires,” sexualized “Jezebels” and “tragic mulattos” who wish they could be white. Recently these characters have evolved into faithful “black girlfriends” or “best buddies,” loud-mouthed “hoodrats” and criminal “thugs,” and hypersexual black women. In addition, a cross between Mammy and Sapphire has given birth to the hypermasculine Matriarch, as represented by the cross-dressing antics of Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence and Tyler Perry–or even, arguably, in the Oscar-winning performance of Mo’nique in the critically acclaimed Precious.

The problem with these cinematic stereotypes is not that they can’t be entertaining or even well-acted–Davis and Spencer are phenomenal actors–but that they often reduce the humanity of an entire race of people in the eye of the viewing public. Since the U.S. is still racially segregated in our living and educational environments, many non-blacks only encounter black women and men on screen. These stereotypes can become their primary impressions of black Americans.

Black History: Black Women in the White House

To mark Black History Month, President Obama has been asked to recognize the role of black people in building the White House. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) requested that the president formally acknowledge the work of the enslaved carpenters, bricklayers, stonemasons, and other male laborers who erected the majestic building in the 1790s.

In keeping with this request, I ask, too, that we remember the enslaved and free black women who served within the White House walls as maids, nurses and cooks starting in the 19th century. One prominent example was Elizabeth Keckley (1818-1907), the Lincoln family’s confidante and dress designer. Before and afterpurchasing her freedom from Southern bondage, she stitched dresses and gowns for elite white women, including Confederate wives. Her renown for her wizardry with the needle spread rapidly by word of mouth, bringing her to the attention of thefashionable and image-conscious Mary Todd Lincoln. Keckley became the first lady’s dressmaker and saw the inner workings of the White House from a vantage point few Americans of her race and gender had experienced.

Other black women found the White House less hospitable. Even the famous abolitionist-feminist Sojourner Truth (1797-1883) was initially rebuffed when she sought a meeting with Lincoln. Ironically, Truth was a fan of Lincoln and had even defended him to abolitionist ally Harriet Tubman, who was critical of the president’s policy of paying black soldiers less than white soldiers. In the end, it was Keckley’s intercession that garnered Truth an audience with Lincoln. On October 29, 1864, Truth and Lincoln had a cordial yet brief discussion of his policy on slavery.

Bill Maher Donates $1 Mil to Pro Obama Super PAC, Priorities USA Actions

BURBANK, CA - SEPTEMBER 09: Comedian Bill Maher appears on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno at NBC Studios on September 9, 2011 in Burbank, California. (Photo by Kevin Winter/Tonight Show/Getty Images for The Tonight Show) HBO comedian Bill Maher announced Thursday that he would cut a $1 million check for a pro-President Obama super PAC.

The donation makes Maher one of the biggest supporters of Priorities USA Actions, which according to recent filings, only raised $59,000 since the beginning of the year.

Maher announced the major gift during his comedy performance "CrazyStupidPolitics" in San Jose.

While the "Real Time" host previously expressed concerns about Obama's reelection, he has scaled back the criticism. He argued during the show that having a country governed by Obama rather than any of the GOP candidates was "worth a million dollars."

CHEAT SHEET: WHAT'S A SUPER PAC?

"This is the wisest investment I think I could make," he added, urging rich liberals to follow suit.

The President — previously a staunch opponent of super PACs because they can spend unlimited amounts of cash to influence elections — had a change of heart earlier this month and urged top fund-raisers to donate to such groups.

At the time, Team Obama argued it cannot allow for "two sets of rules" in which the GOP presidential nominee benefits from "unlimited spending and Democrats unilaterally disarm.”

Maher's not the only comedian to get involved in super PACs.

Fellow HBO comedian Stephen Colbert has his own PAC, Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow, which has raised over $1 million, according to recent filings.

Ida Township Teen Lifts Car to Save Grandfather

Austin SmithIDA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Austin Smith and his grandfather, Ernest "Papa Ernie" Monhollen, were at home Saturday morning trying to fix an old clunker.

The 1991 Buick was propped up on cinder blocks and Monhollen was underneath.

"I was inside, just like this pumping the breaks like this, and I felt it rock just slightly," Austin said

Austin, 15, said he got out of the car and a few moments later it collapsed. Monhollen was trapped underneath the more than 2,000 pound vehicle.

"I was just so scared," Austin said. "I didn't know what to do."

He took action. He lifted the front end high enough for his 74-year-old grandfather to escape.

How did he lift the rock-heavy vehicle? It's a mystery to Austin, too.

"I have no clue," he said. "Probably all the adrenaline. I mean, I couldn't do it right now."

Ernie MonhollenMonhollen suffered a serious cut to his face, fractured ribs and a fractured eye socket.

"Thank God he was here because if it was just me and his grandmother it would have been over. That would have been it," Monhollen said.

Both have learned that sometimes one doesn't know what he is capable of doing until he is faced with no choice but to react.

"Well, we're very close and I think it might, it'll definitely make us closer," Austin said.

Monhollen is a proud grandfather.

"He's a wonderful young man. That's all I can say," the grandfather said.

An Open Letter To Chris Brown and Rihanna Fans From Another Fan

Seriously SensualI want to say I thoroughly enjoyed reading this blog and the replied debates. I'm sure my sister (K) knows even though I make silly comments via FB on a regular basis this is 1 topic I'm very passionate about. Not because I'm a fan of Rihanna or Chris Brown, but due to there being 3 sides to every story... His, Hers & THE TRUTH!

We may all have opinions on who is right and wrong, but only the truth justifies ownership of guilt. If time is suppose to heal old wounds why are people still condemning others for what took place in the past? Let these ENTERTAINERS move on with their CAREERS and stop blaming them for what happened yesteryear. Maturity is a growing process and it naturally shows that a lot of people (which could possibly be you reading this comment of MY opinion) don't have it in their hearts to practice what we preach.

If the saying goes Each One Teach One, what have you learned by feeling Rihanna is wrong for accepting to forgive Chris? What have you learned by saying if Chris did her wrong once he is going to do it again? Educate yourself with ALL the facts before you cast judgement on who is right or wrong. From my point of view the only thing they did was MAKE GOOD REMIX MUSIC for each others albums to show the world they can co-exist in the entertainment business.

CHRIS!!! WTF son?  How do you owe 12 million to the government in back taxes? Remember Ron Isley? Yeah, Mr. Bigs? That's what got him caught up to, goodness.  All the movies in the world is not going to cover what you owe and still keep you paid.  You might need to sign up for some more Fridays and Rush Hours, just saying.  I pray never to find out how you own 12 million to the government. You bout to get knocked the fuggg out mannnnnn by the feds!

According to Urban Daily,

Actor/comedian Chris Tucker has dug himself into a deep tax hole. He owes Uncle Sam $12 million in back taxes. Tucker was already delinquent on paying fedreal taxes to the tune of $11,571,909.26. That total accumulated from the years of 2001-2002 and 2004-2006.

As soon as he wrapped his head around that number, the state of Georgia filed a tax lien against the Rush Hour actor for $592,594.82. This tax lien stems from Tucker not paying taxes in 2007. The combined total of Chris Tucker’s tax liens comes out to about $12,164,504.08.

Whitney Houston may have been getting ready to tell her story.

While there are probably plenty of scripts being written right now about the late singer's life, it turns out that she began talks about developing her biopic not long before she died...

Californication actress Meagan Good tells me that she and Houston began discussions about a possible movie for Good to star in.

"We were fairly in the beginning stages," Good told me last night at Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture's Vanities party at Siren Studios in Hollywood. "We were supposed to meet today actually."

Good said the big question for them was how the movie would end.

"My feeling is because she has the film Sparkle coming out and she's brilliant in it and she looks beautiful and healthy, my feeling was that's how we should end the movie—as a new beginning for her," Good said.

Kathy Rajter is one of the thousands of Oak Park residents who now get their energy supplied by a third party — Integrys Energy — under the village’s new electrical aggregation program.

When the first bill under the new program reached her mailbox last week, Rajter was keen to see her “savings.”

What she saw was a bill for $107,625.16.

“The taxes (and fees alone) on the bill were $16,000,” Kathy Rajter said.

She and her husband, David, had used 2,236 kilowatt hours the previous month, when their bill was $276. The new bill showed them consuming a whopping 1.6 million kilowatt hours, a total more in line with a large industrial customer.

Obviously, a mistake had been made — one that could have created huge problems for the Rajters this Friday, when her electric bill was to be automatically deducted from her checking account.

5 dead following suspected murder-suicide at spa in Norcross, Georgia

Seriously SensualSometimes I hate turning on the news because all there seems to be being reported is death, death, and more death. And even when it's not death being reported, it is something else that seems to make the heart heavy. This morning was no different. Police are saying a shooting that has left 5 dead inside of a Norcross, Georgia spa is an apparent murder-suicide. According to msnbc.com news services:

Updated at 7:43 a.m. ET: NORCROSS, Ga. -- A gunman opened fire at a spa in an Atlanta suburb on Tuesday, leaving five people dead in what authorities described as a murder-suicide.

Surveillance video shows a man walking into the spa and getting into an argument with someone, then opening fire, police said.

"It appears he walked in, had some conversation with one of the victims and the shooting started," Norcross Police Chief Warren Summers told Atlanta television station WAGA.

Summers told reporters at the scene that preliminary evidence suggested the shooting may have been a murder-suicide.

Kobe Attempts To Woo Vanessa...AGAIN!

Kobe Bryant is applying the same relentless single-minded determination displayed on the basketball court in his efforts to reconcile with his wife, Vanessa.

Bryant is said to be “aggressively” pursuing Vanessa since he moved out of their estate in Orange County, Calif., for the past three weeks — and Vanessa has been listening intently, the media reports.

We watched as the Los Angeles Lakers record-breaking shooting guard lavished his wife with a $4 million ring after his infamous excursion to the snow-capped mountains in Colorado a few years back. But it’s being reported that he gave her more ostentatious jewelry to floss with in an effort to win back her favor.

We know that, as it stands, Vanessa Bryant is about to come up big time if she follow through with the divorce filings. She and her mother are living in one of the “Black Mamba’s” two mansions and the Mrs. could swipe about $75 million of her husband’s fortune.

If Vanessa Bryant does withdraw the legal divorce documents, it will instantaneously alter the perceptions of her as a gold-digger who waited until the 10-year deadline to get, as Eddie Murphy roared famously in his classic concert film, “half!” It would also probably serve as insurance against Vanessa Bryant ever appearing on the scandal-ridden reality cesspool of a show, “Basketball Wives.”

*****Well now, I guess Kobe has finally gotten the clue that it's cheaper to keep her. He does need to come up with a new way to get back in her good graces though. The jewelry angle is so played. Will she or won't she go for it, that is the question. $75 million is a big motivator to say NAY!

You, Your Mom, & Hereditary Diseases

Many aspects of our health are genetically linked. According to researchers from the Institute of Cancer Research at the University of London, there's a 57 percent chance that a girl will start menstruating within three months of the date that her mother began.

Here are 9 other women’s health conditions that experts say we may have inherited from our mothers.

1. Migraines

There’s a 70-80 percent chance that you’ll suffer from migraines if your mother did. Researchers believe that a flawed gene may cause severe headaches and can be passed on. If this gene is defective, outside factors, like light, are more liable to trigger pain centers in the brain that cause headaches.

Other triggers include sensitive foods like chocolate, coffee, cheese, citrus fruit and red wine and should be avoided. Also, be aware that hormones during your menstrual cycle can set them off.

2. Breast Cancer

Women who carry the mutated gene BRCA1 or BRCA2 are more at risk to develop breast cancer. Most women who have the defective gene will develop cancer at a very young age, says cancer geneticist, Dr. Elizabeth Rapley.

As a preventative measure, it’s extremely important for women to get mammograms after age 40. If you have a blood relative who has had breast cancer, you can also get genetically screened and be more closely monitored. Some women, who have the mutated gene and a family history of cancer get prophylactic mastectomies to reduce their chances of developing the disease.

CDC Warns of New, Untreatable Gonorrhea

  • Parent Category: News

  • Written by Ladydragon

Historically, the impact of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among the African American community is well documented. Of the estimated 184,991 HIV infections diagnosed for adults and adolescents from 2001 to 2005, more (51 percent) occurred among African Americans than among all other racial/ethnic populations combined.

The seroprevalence of herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), the major cause of genital herpes, has been assessed during 1999 to 2004 was 40.3 percent among African Americans and 13.7 percent among whites (a three-fold difference). Human papillomavirus (HPV) is another viral STI in which prevalence of high or low risk types of HPV infection among women ages 14 to 59 was found to be 39.2 percent among African Americans and 24.2 percent among whites.

Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning the general public of a new potential anti-biotic resistant strain of gonorrhea. Gonorrhea, one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the United States, is increasingly showing resistance to one of the last known effective antibiotic treatments. Gail Bolan, director of the CDC’s sexually transmitted disease prevention program, published this warning in The New England Journal of Medicine last week.

No other race or ethnicity had a gonorrhea rate comparable with that among African Americans. In 2005, approximately 68 percent of the total number of gonorrhea cases reported to the CDC occurred among African Americans. Gonorrhea rates among African Americans are highest for adolescents and young adults, and disparities are greatest for adolescent men. Although disparities for men who have sex with men (MSM) are not as great as for heterosexual populations, STD rates for both the white and African American MSM population are high.

According to the CDC, gonorrhea has a long history of developing immunity to antibiotics. Now, however, 1.7 percent of gonorrhea is now resistant to cephalosporins, the last line of defense against gonorrhea — a 17-fold increase since 2006, when about one 10th of one percent of gonorrhea was believed to have resistance to cephalosporins.

The disease has been estimated to affect 600,000 Americans annually, causing burning with urination, abdominal pain, itching, and genital discharge.

The epidemiology of sexually transmitted disease disparities for African American communities in the United States, mostly determined by population-based studies, clearly show a disproportionately higher burden of STIs in African American communities compared with white communities. These disparities exist for both viral and bacterial STIs, and are greatest for bacterial STIs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.

The inspiration for Nicki Minaj's attention-grabbing, Grammy Awards ensemble -- a red medieval cape - has been explained.

The outfit is a costume from a movie she has written.

In an interview with the Associated Press Wednesday, Minaj discussed why she wore the shocking outfit, showed up with an actor dressed like a pope, and orchestrated a performance of her songs "Roman's Revenge" and "Roman Holiday" that mocked an exorcism, featured dancing monks, involved a levitation, and depicted altar boys kneeling in front of scantily-clad women. The character Roman Zolanksi is one of Minaj's alter egos.

"You know how people write plays and movies? That's what I did," Minaj told the Associated Press. "I wrote that and I gave the world a tiny little preview of what was to come. And so I have to perform it on the set in which it would be in the movie, right?" she said, dismissing her critics.

This is something beautiful to share about surviving cancer and the importance of bone marrow donations. The picture was also capativating and the story just touched the heart. Melinda Muniz was a Leukemia victim when she was married to her long time significant other and father of two of her four children.  Their love was enough to gain her a second chance and a blessing, read below.

From Goodmorning America (via Yahoo):

Melinda Muniz's first wedding photos were taken in her hospital bed as she was fighting a deadly leukemia, 50 pounds thinner, pale and literally at death's door.

A priest had agreed to come to her bedside in June and marry the 35-year-old social worker to her decade-long boyfriend, the father of two of her four youngest children.

But in October, thanks to pioneering doctors at Thomas Jefferson's Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia, where she received chemotherapy and a half-match bone marrow transplant, Muniz was given a second chance at life.

And last week, feeling strong and looking healthier, she was given a second shot for her wedding photos -- in a white gown and under much healthier conditions.

CVS/pharmacy launched Project Health (Proyecto Salud in Spanish) a wellness program delivering more than $21 million worth of free health screenings to multicultural communities. The national leading retail pharmacy started this program to prevent disease through early detection, following the success of the To Your Health campaign. Project Health will offer an array of free comprehensive health risk assessments and screenings during five disease-specific national health awareness months from American Heart Month (February) to Diabetes Awareness Month (November). Over 1,000 Project Health events are scheduled for 2012 in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Events are also planned at CVS/pharmacy locations in Puerto Rico.

“We know that for a variety of reasons multicultural populations have difficulty accessing and benefiting from preventive care,” said Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., M.P.H., executive vice president and chief medical officer, CVS Caremark. “Making this issue even more disconcerting, these same patients disproportionately suffer from certain treatable conditions, like high blood pressure and diabetes. Through Project Health, CVS/pharmacy will work to achieve better health outcomes among multicultural populations and is once again making the commitment to helping people on their path to better health.”

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BEAUTY NATURALLY

As you probably already know, there are a ton of creams, serums, and cleansers out there designed to help your skin. But some of the best beauty ingredients out there may just be in your...kitchen!

Here are five ingredients that experts love for their beauty-boosting properties:

• Papain.

This enzyme, found in papayas and pineapples, gently eats off dead skin cells, decongesting clogged pores and helping with skin texture and cell turnover. You can blend up a fresh papaya and use it as a mask, or crush some papaya enzyme tablets into your moisturizer to make a hydrating, gently exfoliating mask.

• Olive oil.

Olive oil is a great cleanser and moisturizer; it's an amazing makeup remover, and you can get it all off afterwards with a little face wash. Putting a drop on any dry body skin you might have or acne scabs will also soften them up.

President Barack Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is pressuring Congress to extend a payroll tax cut for the rest of the year as another deadline nears for Congress to act or see taxes go up for millions of working people.

Lawmakers agreed in December, after much bickering, on a two-month extension, but that runs out at the end of this month. Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday that Congress "needs to stop this middle-class tax hike from happening. Period. No drama. No delay."

Obama said the economic recovery must not be jeopardized by a failure to stop payroll taxes from rising, and he urged listeners to add their voices.

"I hope you'll pick up the phone, send a tweet, write an email, and tell your representative that they should get this done before it gets too late. Tell them not to play politics again by linking this debate to unrelated issues. Tell them not to manufacture another needless standoff or crisis," Obama said. "Tell them not to stand in the way of the recovery. Tell them to just do their job. That's what our middle class needs. That's what our country needs."

Obama to announce contraception rule accommodation for religious organizations

Obama to Announce Contraception Rule 'Accommodation' for Religious Organizations (ABC News)

With the White House under fire for its new rule requiring employers including religious organizations to offer health insurance that fully covers birth control coverage, at 12:15 p.m. ET, President Obama will announce an attempt to accommodate these religious groups.

The move, based on state models, will almost certainly not satisfy bishops and other religious leaders since it will preserve the goal of women employees having their birth control fully covered by health insurance.

Sources say it will be respectful of religious beliefs but will not back off from that goal, which many religious leaders oppose since birth control is in violation of their religious beliefs.

One source familiar with the decision described the accommodation as "Hawaii-plus," insisting that it's better than the Hawaii plan - for both sides.

In Hawaii the employer is responsible for referring employees to places where they can obtain the contraception; Catholic leaders call that material cooperation with evil. But what the White Housewill likely announce later today is that the relationship between the religious employer and the insurance company will not need to have any component involving contraception. The insurance company will reach out on its own to the women employees. This is better for both sides, the source says, since the religious organizations do not have to deal with medical care to which they object, and women employees will not have to be dependent upon an organization strongly opposed to that care in order to obtain it.

Vile racism raised its ugly head during a boys basketball game near Pittsburgh on Friday when fans of a nearly all-white suburban school ran on the court in banana suits and made monkey noises to taunt the players for their rivals, who play for a school which is predominantly African-American.

As reported by a variety of Pittsburgh media outlets, the Monessen Valley Independent and WPXI prominent among them, the annual basketball rivalry game between Pittsburgh (Pa.) Brentwood High and Monessen (Pa.) High turned extremely ugly when the two teams tried to head to their respective locker rooms for halftime. Before the players could leave the floor, three fans from the visiting Brentwood student section ran onto the court in full body banana suits.

The fans surrounded the Monessen players and allegedly began making monkey noises and hurling racial epithets at the Monessen players, with no one entering the fray to stop the horribly inappropriate catcalls from coming.

A Missouri teen is given life with possible parole in brutal killing of a 9 year old girl, in St. Martins, MO, a small town outside of Jefferson City. Associate Press (via Yahoo) explains,

A central Missouri teenager who confessed to strangling, cutting and stabbing a 9-year-old girl because she wanted to know how it felt to kill someone was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Alyssa Bustamante, 18, pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the October 2009 slaying of Elizabeth Olten in St. Martins, a small rural town west of Jefferson City.

The judge also ordered the teen to serve a consecutive 30-year term in the armed criminal action charge.

Bustamante was 15 years old when she confessed to strangling Elizabeth, repeatedly stabbing her in the chest and slicing the girl's throat. She led police to the shallow grave where she had concealed Elizabeth's body under a blanket of leaves in the woods behind their neighborhood.

With her hands shackled to her waist and her feet shackled together, Bustamante rose and faced Elizabeth's mother and siblings before she was sentenced Wednesday.

...Consumers have long been able to insert a few coins for the likes of aspirin, ibuprofen, antacids and other common over-the-counter remedies. But some experts see a worrisome trend in making drugs like Plan B, which is kept behind the pharmacy counter, available in a vending machine.

The complaints about the machine only has begun to spark in the recent years.  I'm interested in how many people have used it, because clearly it's working fine and no abuse has been noted. Things that make you think, read more (here).<

Foods That Heal

If someone told you there were eight foods that could make you more beautiful and help you feel a lot healthier, you’d want to eat up, right?

Consider this your grocery list.

Problem: Thin, Dry Hair

Fix: GREEN TEA

The benefits of green tea keep piling up, and here’s another one: The caffeine in tea slows the production of a chemical that shrinks hair follicles and results in thinner strands. He recommends two to three cups of tea daily. (Coffee drinkers, your morning cup of java can have the same effect.) But if you’re plagued with dry, flaky scalp or hair loss, it may be a sign that you’re not getting enough zinc. Meet your 8 milligram daily quota with a variety of zinc-rich foods like crabmeat, yogurt, baked beans, green peas and pumpkin seeds.

Problem: PMS

Fix: MILK or CHEESE

When women don’t get enough calcium, they may experience more severe cramps, mood swings and bloating. Research found that 1,200 milligrams of calcium a day (the amount in about two slices of Swiss cheese plus a glass of skim milk and a yogurt) can cut premenstrual symptoms by as much as 48 percent. If you tend to get headaches during your period, you may be low in magnesium. A quarter cup of almonds or cashews can help you meet up to 30 percent of your day’s needs for the mineral.

Oh snap, there’s drama over at CNN after contributor Roland Martin sent some nasty anti-gay tweets during the Super Bowl game!

Now GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) is calling on CNN to fire him! Following H&M’s Super Bowl commercial featuring soccer player David Beckham, Martin tweeted this to almost 95,000 followers and it set off a fire storm…. two sides went back and forth and now CNN insiders tell BMS that executives are looking into the matter. We’re told it’s not looking good for Martin.

If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl

The tweet followed H&M’s Super Bowl commercial featuring soccer player David Beckham. FYI, Martin is a regular guest on CNN and a commentator on TV One, a news network available in more than 36 million homes.

GLAAD fired back with this…

.@ Advocates of gay bashing have no place at @ #SuperBowl #LGBT
@glaad

Martin replied by tweeting…

@ @ well you’re clearly out of touch and clueless with what I tweeted. Way to assume, but you’re way off base.

Little-Known Malcolm X Speech Resurfaces At Brown University

In this Feb. 2, 2012 photo, archived editions of the Brown University Herald used by Brown senior Malcolm Burnley, 22, sit on a shelf at the John HayPROVIDENCE, R.I. – The recording was forgotten, and so, too, was the odd twist of history that brought together Malcolm X and a bespectacled Ivy Leaguer fated to become one of America's top diplomats.

The audiotape of Malcolm X's 1961 address in Providence might never have surfaced at all if 22-year-old Brown University student Malcolm Burnley hadn't stumbled across a reference to it in an old student newspaper. He found the recording of the little-remembered visit gathering dust in the university archives.

"No one had listened to this in 50 years," Burnley told The Associated Press. "There aren't many recordings of him before 1962. And this is a unique speech — it's not like others he had given before."

In the May 11, 1961, speech delivered to a mostly white audience of students and some residents, Malcolm X combines blistering humor and reason to argue that blacks should not look to integrate into white society but instead must forge their own identities and culture.

At the time, Malcolm X, 35, was a loyal supporter of the black separatist movement Nation of Islam, now based in Chicago. He would be assassinated four years later after leaving the group and crafting his own more global, spiritual ideology.

We made some calls, and Eddie is very much alive.

The frenzy was triggered by MediaFetcher.com. The site has been spinning bogus stories about other celebs they claim are dead but are not -- including Jon Bon Jovi, Charlie Sheen, Adam Sandler, TooShort, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Luke Perry, Jack Black, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Tom Green, Mac Miller, Tiger Woods, George Clooney, and others.

Seriously SensualI posted a picture that I'd found of Maia Campbell about one or two weeks ago. That picture sparked so much feedback that I had to go out and find an update on her situation. I had to find someone who would know more about her current situation. I just felt like there had to be someone or something out there that could help her. I'm happy to report that what I found is the greatest news I could hear. I found an interview, a radio interview, from December of 2011 and it seems as if Maia has started on the right track and road to recovery. We are now in 2012 and I'm hoping she is still on the road to recovery. Take a listen to the 3-part interview below.

Remember Hawk from Spenser?, How about Captain Sisko from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine? Welp, looks like actor and badassness Avery Brooks has been arrested for a DUI.

According to Bossip (via eonline) the Captain,

... was arrested last night in Connecticut on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The 63-year-old actor was picked up after police received a complaint of a person driving erratically nera the intersection of Belden Hill and Seir Hill Road, the Wilton Police Department confirms.

I heart his badassness, can we get him some help and get him back into film?<

Get on the Black History bus!

Khaild el-Hakim is on a mission to bring Black History to every block, one bus at a time.  His dedication and drive to education using such a inspirational method has drawn attention from several mover and shakers including some rap moguls.

Huffington Post reports that,  (read more at the link)

El-Hakim runs the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, a traveling collection that he curates out of a 30-foot-long, 12-foot-wide trailer.

University of Detroit-Mercy architecture students designed the structure's interior, which can accommodate about 15 people. Outside, the trailer is decorated with a mural by Detroit graffiti artist Sintex. Its exhibits draw upon an archive of over 5,000 objects that include slave chains, a Ku Klux Klan hood and a document signed by Malcolm X.

El-Hakim said some of the museum's more popular exhibits include "NECESSARY!" which celebrates the legacy of Malcolm X and other black revolutionary leaders; the "3 Ms" exhibit, which looks at Martin Luther King Jr., Motown and Michael Jackson; and a hip-hop exhibit called "And the Legacy Continues ..."

The museum got its start as an teaching aid for el-Hakim's Detroit students and has been operating now for 21 years.

"The early days were mainly using artifacts in my classroom as a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools," el-Hakim told The Huffington Post. "I would use artifacts to introduce concepts such as Jim Crow to my students. Also, I would set up mini-exhibits at community events, such as Kwanzaa celebrations."

Inspired by Minister Louis Farrakhan's call to improve communities around the country at the Million Man March, el-Hakim took the project mobile in 1997.

I support this look. Can he come to the midwest?<

BET says oh heck no "Stupid H*e" Nicki M's video is BANNED

Nicki Minaj is officially a part of BET's selective and random, often having no sense or after the fact, Ban list.  Sadly, I have to say, good. The song is HORRIBLE and should have never seen the light of day.  Am I saying that due to the moniker? Nah, not so much, but I am saying it because frankly this is one of Minaj's weakest, laziest and lyrically lame tracks and it should be banned due to it being developed. Sorry. Remix Sh*tted on em, and try again later, thanks! *Nicki Minaj Eye*

According to TMZ (via Huffington Post):

The network is refusing to show "Stupid Hoe," according to TMZ. The network, which had long been criticized for airing sexually suggestive music videos, wouldn't say why they chose to keep the clip off the air, but TMZ cites sources that said the video — in which Nicki repeat the refrain "You a stupid hoe" over and over and shows what appears to be her bare buttocks — to be too raunchy. The video hasn't been getting much love on YouTube either: as of this morning, nearly two-thirds of all the people who voted on the video have "disliked it."

Told you the video sucked, and you can watch it below!
