I found this article in Rivals.com interesting:
By Cameron Smith
Usually we try to celebrate great young athletes and their prodigious potential. In Arkansas, one youth football league is instituting a dramatic rule to hold back its brightest star, all in an attempt to level the playing field for other competitors.
According to Arkansas Fox affiliate Fox 16, 11-year-old Demias Jimerson has emerged as such a dominant running back that the Wilson Intermediate Football League he plays in has reinstated a bylaw called the "Madre Hill rule," which bars him from scoring a touchdown if he has already scored three times and his team has a lead of 14 points or more.
The rule is named after former University of Arkansas star and Oakland Raider Madre Hill, who, like Jimerson, played youth football in the Malvern, Ark., area. Hill proved so adept at getting the ball into the end zone whenever he touched it that the WIFL came up with the rule to try and keep scores from getting too out of hand.

Above is the first look of the cast of The Avengers, minus Samuel L Jackson. Guess the Picture would be too crowed huh? *side eye*
Below is a quick blurb about the movie from Comingsoon.net via EW:
Marvel Studios is featuring a first look at The Avengers (May 4, 2012) in this week's new issue of Entertainment Weekly. The magazine has more photos, but you can check out the cover art below.
"Just because they're super heroes doesn't mean they're super friends," Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) told the magazine. Joss Whedon was actually counting on a little bit of friction between cast members, since there's so much in the actual story. "I was like, well, if they hate each other, I guess we can use that. But they don't."

According to NecoleBitchie.com:
Tyrese’s recent visit to Deleware radio station KISS 101.7 almost turned ugly yesterday when he was booted from the building. He was visiting the station to promote his upcoming album, Open Invitation, when he made a statement on air about how liquor stores should not be allowed near schools, in reference to a nearby liquor store that was located across from an elementary school.
During his interview, he told the DJ:
“Get them cats out of here … selling alcohol right across from your kids school, homie — put the pressure on them homie … you know how to put pressure on dudes selling in your hood.
The Program Director at the station was not feeling that and promptly asked Tyrese to leave during a commercial break. According to Tyrese’s tweets:
I just kicked out of a radio station frm a PD who had a problem w/ me speaking on liquor stores that are by elementary schools in Delaware. In 17 years I hv NEVER been kicked out of a radio station.. Because I have a problem w/ liquor stores being across from elementary schools?
I was also told that the PD made them ERASE my interview so that NO ONE could HEAR me SPEAK on the issue of the liqour stores near kids..
Love is love y’all .. When you stand for something.. You will create a shift in the universe.. Salute to all of you for your support!
If you don’t STAND for something.. You will damn near fall for Anything..
According to TMZ, they reached out to the radio station who confirmed he was asked to leave the building because he was ‘disrespecting’ the Deleware Community.
Say what now? Now i'm not a big Tyrese fan, but they kicked him out for what? You have to be kidding me!<

Are you watching the Murray Trial?
According to The Grio:
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Prosecutors told jurors Tuesday that Michael Jackson was killed by the actions of his personal physician, who used a dangerous anesthetic without adequate safeguards and botched recovery efforts when he found the singer unconscious.
Defense attorneys countered that Jackson caused his own death by taking the drug propofol after his doctor left the room in a desperate attempt to overcome his chronic inability to sleep.
Nothing Dr. Conrad Murray could have done would have saved the King of Pop, defense attorney Ed Chernoff told the panel, because Jackson was desperate to regain his fame and needed rest to prepare for a series of crucial comeback concerts.
The competing versions of Jackson's death and Murray's role in it were laid out in opening statements at the physician's involuntary manslaughter trial.
Speaking for more than an hour, prosecutor David Walgren relied heavily on photos and audio recordings to make his case that Murray was an inept and reckless caretaker of Jackson.
He showed a photo of a lifeless Jackson on a hospital gurney, and played a recording of Jackson speaking to Murray while the prosecutor said he was under the influence of an unknown substance roughly six weeks before his death.
(Read more at The Grio)
I swear these people have no qualms at all. Even in his death MJ is being toted around and blasted. His death get not a iota of respect. I know for myself I do not need to see MJ's body, but I feel that way about anyone who at the time is laying in the hospital dying.

According to The Grigo:
A central Florida ice cream store is trying to win back customers, after a promotional costume became controversial. The costume is supposed to look like an ice cream cone, but some say it resembles a KKK hood.
The owners at the newly opened ice cream family corner and sandwich shop in Ocala, decided a great way to attract customers would be to have an employee stand outside in an ice cream costume.
Jasmine Gonzalez says initially the promotion worked and ice cream sales jumped, but then, just as quickly, business dropped off.
"Things just changed dramatically. And we were like, what's going on," said Gonzalez.
The employees soon learned the problem, from a distance the costume looked to some people like a KKK hood.
"We started hearing people say, oh there's KKK at the ice cream family corner, um you know don't go." The rumors flew on Facebook and reactions from passers by was mixed.
"I'm offended by it and I'm gonna tell everybody don't come here," said a witness.
Gonzalez says the truth is, her family is from Puerto Rico and didn't even know what the KKK was let alone look like a costume to look like a hood. "No harm to nobody. We're not affiliated with none of that." said Gonzalez.
I'm sorry but to watch the video and see it, I'm just shaking my head with a giggle. Guess some ice creams are just not allowed. *Prince Side eye*<

I'm excited for J-hud really I am but between her and J-lo's commercials, there's so much a woman can take. Classic image torture. But I digress.
J-hud has opened her own Weight Watchers center in her hometown of Chicago, IL.
According to The Clutch:
In honor of her slain nephew, Julian King, the weight-loss conglomerate has pledged to donate a portion of the center’s revenue to a foundation that Hudson co-founded in his name. During the grand opening, the Grammy winner shared, “I never thought I would make it to have my own center… I’m so honored to be here and see this day.” Speaking on her goal for the fledgling center, the trim singer said, “I love to target children, because that’s the thing that makes a difference. We hope to do the same thing and start here at home in Chicago with health, with education, with dreams.”

A black woman claims she was hired by a Roswell restaurant and bar, but then fired before she started work because of the color of her skin.
Najla Salaam completed her training to work as a server at The Tilted Kilt, but was never scheduled to work and told that too many black women had already been hired, according to a federal lawsuit filed Monday by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
A former general manager at the restaurant told the EEOC he was instructed to fire Salaam because she was African-American and too dark, the lawsuit states. Because the general manager objected to the owner's instruction to fire employees based on race, he was also fired, the EEOC said Monday.

Antoine Dodson -- the guy who famously warned "They rapin' errbody out here" -- was arrested in Huntsville, AL yesterday after cops say he was BLASTING music wayyy too loud.
According to police, Dodson was stopped at 6:20 PM and issued a warning for violating the local noise ordinance -- but during the incident, cops ran his name and discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Cops say Dodson failed to appear in court after he was popped for marijuana possession back in April -- so the officers arrested him on the spot and hauled the "Bed Intruder" singer to a nearby station.
According to jail records, Dodson was released after posting $516.00 bond.
Calls to Dodson have not been returned.
<<<<< Here is clearly a case of fame (15 minutes, that is) gone wrong. Antoine Dodson had a chance to get out of the ghetto, but obviously you can't get the ghetto out of him. Bad enough he got arrested before for marijuana possession, but to not even show up to court? Yep, definitely minor celebrity status gone bad...

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida -- The 96-year-old woman arrested for killing her nephew will remain in jail with no bond.
The shooting happened Sunday night at a St. Augustine home, though it was initially reported as a heart attack. Police found 53-year-old John W. Rice on the floor of a bedroom with evidence of a shooting.
According to Officer Mark Samson with the St. Augustine Police Department, investigators determined Rice's aunt, 96-year-old Amanda Rice Stevenson, had shot him once with a .357 magnum. She was in another bedroom when police were in the home.
The initial news release from police indicated the victim was her son, but in court it was clarified that Rice is Stevenson's nephew.
Rice's wife told police she had left the home at 5:30 while Rice was in the living room watching football. She said she returned shortly before 9 to find her husband on the floor of the bedroom.

Hip-hop artist Petey Pablo has been sentenced in North Carolina to almost three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a stolen firearm.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says the 38-year-old rapper was sentenced Monday to 35 months behind bars in U.S. District Court in New Bern. Pablo's real name is Moses Barrett, and he's from Wake Forest, N.C.
Petey Pablo was arrested last year while attempting to clear security at Raleigh-Durham International Airport for a flight to Los Angeles. Authorities found a loaded gun in a bag that had passed through an X-ray machine.

Now initially upon running across this story my face frowned so hard I thought it would be permanently perched that way. After reading it, I still don't know how I feel about it. What would you do if you had been secretly wedded to your mother's husband at the age of 3 and there was nothing you could do about it? That's the story of this young girl who now has three kids with her mother's husband (not to mention the mother has two kids with him too). After the mother's first husband (and the daughters birth father) died, the mother had to remarry in order to keep her land and wealth. You know what, I'll let you read the story yourself.
As a child in rural Bangladesh, Orola Dalbot, 28, liked growing up around her mother's second husband, Noten. Her father had died when she was small, and her mother had remarried. Noten was handsome, with a broad smile. "I thought my mother was lucky," Orola says. "I hoped I'd find a husband like him." When she hit puberty, however, Orola learned the truth she least expected: She was already Noten's wife. Her wedding had occurred when she was 3 years old, in a joint ceremony with her mother. Following tradition in the matrilineal Mandi tribe, mother and daughter had married the same man.
"I wanted to run away when I found out," says Orola, sitting in the sunbaked courtyard of her family home in north-central Bangladesh. "I was shaking with disbelief." Orola's mother, Mittamoni, now 50, told her she must accept it. Among the Mandi, a remote hill tribe in Bangladesh and India, widows who wish to remarry must choose a man from the same clan as their dead husband. The only single males, however, are often much younger. So the custom evolved that a widow would offer one of her daughters as a second bride to take over her duties — including sex — when the daughter came of age.

He seems to think so. If you watched the game yesterday you saw all of the late hits he sustained at the hands of some of the defensive linemen of the New York Giants. You guessed it, not one flag was thrown. Not even when defensive linemen Chris Canty hit Vick in the facemask with his helmet.
Vick started for Philadelphia despite suffering a concussion in last week’s loss at Atlanta. He left the 29-16 defeat at the hands of the New York Giants with the broken hand in the fourth quarter after helping the Eagles overcome a 14-0 first-quarter deficit to take a 16-14 lead.
It’s uncertain how long Vick will be out.
Vick not only was hurting, he was annoyed that no flag was thrown on the hit by defensive lineman Chris Canty. It appeared Canty hit Vick in the facemask with his helmet. Vick sat on the ground, lifted his helmet off slightly before getting helped up by a teammate and an official.
“Every time I throw the ball, I’m on the ground,” Vick said. “I get hit in the head. I don’t know why I don’t get the 15-yard flag like everybody else does. I’m not trying to blame the refs. I just want them to take notice.”
I was watching the game yesterday and Mike Vick was getting his arse handed to him and not one time was a flag thrown. What do you guys think? Source<

That's what it seems like. According to the NyPost.com the funk legend and 68 year old has lost all of his fortune and is living on the street in the neighborhood where
'Boys in the Hood' was filmed.
In his heyday, he lived at 783 Bel Air Road, a four-bedroom, 5,432-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion that once belonged to John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas.
The Tudor-style house was tricked out in his signature funky black, white and red color scheme. Shag carpet. Tiffany lamps in every room. A round water bed in the master bedroom. There were parties where Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Miles Davis would drop by, where Etta James would break into “At Last” by the bar.
Just four years ago, he resided in a Napa Valley house so large it could only be described as a “compound,” with a vineyard out back and multiple cars in the driveway.
John Chapple
SOUL SURVIVOR: Sly Stone, now 68 years old, shows he can still get funky -- brandishing a Taser for a photo session in front of his Studebaker.
John Chapple
"I like my small camper. I just do not want to return to a fixed home ... I must keep moving," Stone says.
But those days are gone.
Today, Sly Stone -- one of the greatest figures in soul-music history -- is homeless, his fortune stolen by a lethal combination of excess, substance abuse and financial mismanagement. He lays his head inside a white camper van ironically stamped with the words “Pleasure Way” on the side. The van is parked on a residential street in Crenshaw, the rough Los Angeles neighborhood where “Boyz n the Hood” was set. A retired couple makes sure he eats once a day, and Stone showers at their house. The couple’s son serves as his assistant and driver.
Inside the van, the former mastermind of Sly & the Family Stone, now 68, continues to record music with the help of a laptop computer.
“I like my small camper,” he says, his voice raspy with age and years of hard living. “I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving.”
Stone has been difficult to pin down for years. In the last two decades, he’s become one of music’s most enigmatic figures, bordering on reclusive. You’d be forgiven for assuming he’s dead. He rarely appears in public, and just getting him in a room requires hours or years of detective work, middlemen and, of course, making peace with the likelihood that he just won’t show up.
There was a time when Sly was difficult to escape. Stone, whose real name is Sylvester Stewart, was one of the most visible, flamboyant figures of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The multiracial, multi-gender band that Stone assembled fused funk, soul and psychedelic rock and became one of the most influential acts ever. The San Fran-based group released a string of hits beginning with the 1968 album “Dance to the Music,” followed by “Everyday People,” “Family Affair,” “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)” and “Stand!”
If you want to read more click the nypost link above. Is it me or are you tired of the entertainment business chewing people up and spitting them out? Or can we even really blame the business? Is it the persons themselves not doing what it takes to secure their futures before splurging on things like drugs, women, clothes, cars, and houses?

Many doctors still recommend yearly Pap tests to screen for cervical cancer even though the guidelines suggest that some women can wait three years between negative tests, a survey shows.
The new findings appear in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Overscreening for cervical cancer can result in unnecessary follow-up tests and procedures, which cause stress and pain for the women and increase costs.
In 2011, there will be an estimated 12,710 new cases of invasive cervical cancer diagnosed and about 4,290 women will die from cervical cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
During a standard Pap test, a doctor scrapes cells from a woman's cervix and a lab examines these cells for changes indicating precancer or cancer.
A test for human papilloma virus (HPV), which is a common cause of cervical cancer, is sometimes performed in addition to a Pap test. The HPV test is optional and can be used as a screen along with the Pap test in women age 30 and older and those who have unclear Pap test results.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that cervical cancer screening be performed every three years in women who are 30 and older who are at average risk for cervical cancer and who have had three previous normal Pap tests.
Yearly Pap Tests Still Popular
Researchers analyzed data from two 2006 surveys to determine cervical screening practices and recommendations by doctors. The majority of doctors continued to recommend annual cervical screening for women in which the guidelines suggest waiting three years between negative Pap tests.
About 51% of the doctors ordered the HPV co-test as opposed to the Pap test alone, the study shows.
"If only half are using the co-test, there is a lack of understanding about the guidelines," says study researcher Katherine Roland, a behavioral scientist at the CDC. "Women should discuss with their provider whether they are eligible for extended intervals between testing or not based on the type of test that is ordered and their results."
When the researchers asked a group of doctors to make a cervical screening recommendation based on three scenarios involving women aged 30 to 60 with a normal Pap test, most doctors said they would screen annually. In each of these scenarios, however, the guidelines call for waiting three years between tests.
As to why there is a disconnect, Roland and colleagues can only speculate because the study did not look at reasons behind these screening decisions.
"There might be resistance because of patient preference for annual screening, a fear of litigation or lack of awareness of the guidelines," she says. There may also be financial incentives for doctors and labs to run these tests more frequently than the guidelines recommend, she says.
Study co-researcher Mona Saraiya, MD, of the CDC's division of cancer prevention and control, says, "Patients are playing a really key role in affecting provider behaviors, so they can say if they want to be screened with the Pap test or new HPV-co test."
Mark H. Einstein, MD, a gynecologic oncologist at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, explains some of the dangers associated with over-screening for cervical cancer. "There is quite a bit of over-screening in women in the U.S., which which ultimately leads to over-management and over-treatment," he says.
"Providers may be aware of guidelines, but to a large degree, they are not completely following them," Einstein says. "Explaining to a patient that they don't need annual testing and why it is detrimental can be a tricky conversation."
The women who are most likely to get cervical cancer haven't had screening in five years, he says.

Racism continues to be a disgraceful issue in the National Hockey League in 2011. Although the sport has drawn more black players over the years, the NHL remains light-years behind other pro leagues when it comes to diversity and respect for minorities.
Wayne Simmonds, a black player for the Philadelphia Flyers, attempted a shootout during a recent game against the Detroit Red Wings. Moments before the attempt, a racist fan threw a banana peel on the rink that landed inches away from the net.
After the game, Simmonds responded to the incident by saying, “That’s just somebody being ignorant. When you’re a black man playing in a predominately white man’s sport, you’ve got to come to expect things like that.”
However, a black man in America should not have to expect blatant racism in an organized professional sport in this era. The black community can send a strong message to the NHL, the fans and those who are employed by the league, by boycotting and speaking out against the sponsors of the NHL. Why should our community support companies that supports a historically racist organization?
Other racist incidents in the NHL include a fan throwing a banana at Kevin Weekes in 2002; Petter Worrell being called a monkey by Craig Berube in 1997; and the general manager of the Ontario Hockey League called team captain Treveor Daley the N-word in 2003.
<<<<< While I am not huge hockey fan, I still have teams that I support. That said, I really am not surprised by the racist name calling or depictions that have occurred. The way I see it, as long these blatant acts of racism occur in the locker room, front office, etc., and these instances are not being checked, then of course the so-called hockey fans are going to think the have all right to treat Blacks players with contempt. Until the issue of racism is dealt with from within, as it has been with soccer, then the overall problem will continue.

Wanda Sykes has been making fans laugh for years, but now the comedienne is bringing a touch of lighthearted humor and humanity to an all-too-devastating illness as she reveals that she once had breast and a double mastectomy as a result of the disease.
Sykes made the surprising announcement during a preview clip of a recent appearance on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” which is set to air today, Sept. 26. According to Sykes, doctors discovered her breast cancer in February after she’d undergone breast reduction surgery.
“I had real big boobs and I just got tired of knocking over stuff,” joked Sykes. “Every time I eat — oh Lord — I’d carry a Tide stick everywhere I go. My back was sore so it was time to have a reduction.
“It wasn’t until after the reduction that in the lab work, the pathology, that they found that I had DCIS [ductal carcinoma in situ] in my left breast — I was very, very lucky because [at the time, it was] basically stage-zero cancer. So I was very lucky.”
Though doctors suggested that Sykes could wait to act on the stage-zero cancer, Sykes explained that she decided to be proactive about preventing the disease’s progression.
“I had the choice of, you can go back every three months and get it checked. Have a mammogram, MRI every three months just to see what it’s doing,” explained Sykes. “But, I’m not good at keeping on top of stuff. I’m sure I’m overdue for an oil change and a teeth cleaning already.”
After learning of her family’s history of breast cancer on her mother’s side, Sykes decided to have a double mastectomy.
“I had both breasts removed, [so] now I have zero chance of having breast cancer.”
Sykes, who has 2-year old twins, Olivia Lou and Lucas Claude, with her wife, Alex, jokingly explained that she was hesitant to discuss her cancer ordeal with the public.
“How many things could I have? I’m black, then lesbian,” she joked. “I can’t be the poster child for everything! At least with the LGBT issues we get a parade, we get a float, it’s a party. I was real hesitant about doing this because, I hate walking. I got a lot of walks coming up!”
As fate would have it, Sykes “poster child” joke came true when shortly after the clip was released, Cindy Geoghegan from the Y-Me.Org National Breast Cancer Organization thanked the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star for going public with her cancer battle, according to RadarOnline.
“We are so grateful that Wanda has gone public with the news of her cancer. Breast cancer is a very personal thing and most people don’t come forward, so it was really an act of heroism,” Geoghegan said in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com. “It raises awareness and sends a message to the public, ‘If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.’ It expands the breast cancer dialogue — usually it’s about mammograms, genetic history, age, etc., but now people are learning it can be detected by going in to get a breast enlargement or reduction.
“October is all about Pink, but it’s really about people. It was very brave of Wanda to come out and share her story. There’s no telling how many people will detect their cancer when it’s still in the early stages because of Wanda has helped raise awareness.”
<<<<< BREAST CANCER FACTS (SOURCE): Many women are reluctant to talk about breast cancer, but it is second only to lung cancer in all reported cancer cases, accounting for a little more than 10 percent of cancer diagnoses around the world. While men can also develop breast cancer, women are about 100 times more likely to develop the disease; however, the survival rates are about the same regardless of the patient's sex.
One of the most common symptoms of breast cancer is an abnormal lump or mass in the breast. The most effective way to detect a lump is to perform a monthly self-exam. An annual mammogram, performed at a doctor's office, can detect lumps in their earliest stages, increasing the odds for a complete recovery.
The most common treatment for breast cancer is surgery. Depending on the stage of the disease, surgeons might be able to remove the cancerous tumors while leaving the breast intact. In other cases, however, a mastectomy, though a more drastic surgery, is necessary in order to reduce the risk of recurrence. Many patients also receive medication and radiation treatments.
Women and men diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer have a 100 percent chance of survival after treatment. Those diagnosed with stage II have a 98 percent chance; virtually everyone survives this stage for at least five years. After stage II, survival rates drop quickly. Those diagnosed with stage IIA breast cancer have a 92 percent survival rate, while those with stage IIB face an 81 percent chance. Stage IIIA has a 67 percent survival rate, and with stage IIIB the rate drops to 54 percent. Those with stage IV breast cancer, the most advanced stage, face a mere 20 percent chance that they will live five years after the diagnosis. When diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, the patient and treating physician have the difficult task of developing an aggressive treatment plan while maintaining a reasonable quality of life for the patient. Treatment plans at this stage are very personal and require much time and consultation between the patient, physicians, and family members. It is important to note that, while stage IV survival rates may be less than optimal, many individuals can and do survive stage IV breast cancer for a good number of years after their diagnosis, adding several quality years to their life.

Thursday, two North Carolina men were set free after a panel of judges ruled that they were innocent of murder.
According to US Today, Kenneth Kagonyera (31) and Robert Wilcoxson (32) pled guilty to the second-degree murder of Walter Bowman during a home invasion in 2000. The two men took the plea in order to avoid life sentences, even though they claimed their innocence.
Thanks to the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission, the two men were granted a hearing, which took place over seven days, where their attorneys presented evidence to prove their innocence.
The hearing came after the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission in April found enough evidence to indicate the men were not guilty, including the confession of another man and DNA testing that pointed to other suspects.
The men had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the slaying of Walter Bowman in 2000, though they repeatedly claimed they were innocent. Their attorneys at the hearing said the men admitted to the murder to avoid life sentences.
District Attorney Ron Moore, the elected prosecutor who handled the case, said, "We accept the ruling of the court." He said the ruling would make it harder to accept guilty pleas for fear that suspects are taking a deal to avoid longer sentences.
The fact that this exoneration in North Carolina occurred the day after Georgia executed Troy Davis, who claimed his innocence from the beginning, makes one think about how Kagonyera and Wilcoxson are blessed. At least there is a happy ending in this story.

In Bay Minette, AL, non-violent offenders have a choice: you can either serve time in jail and pay a fine or you make sure you're in church every Sunday, for a year.
Operation Restore Our Community or "ROC"...begins next week. The city judge will either let misdemenor offenders work off their sentences in jail and pay a fine or go to church every Sunday for a year.
If offenders elect church, they're allowed to pick the place of worship, but must check in weekly with the pastor and the police department. If the one-year church attendance program is completed successfully, the offender's case will be dismissed (Source: WKRG).
According to the article, there are fifty-six churches in within the county that are participating in this program. The police chief says that the program is "cost-effective", since each inmate costs the department $75 per day. He also sees the program as a possible way to help offenders make better choices so they do not continue down the wrong path. The police chief also points out that the program is legal and it does not violate the separation of church and state due to the fact that offenders are given a choice.<

Don't you love how people in Hollywood are just sitting back, playing darts and saying "Hey, it landed on Scarface, guess we'll remake it!" Yup, that's how I see it going down and I'm annoyed as heck. Although, this film is being tagged as not a remake, but an updated version, such as was down with the 1985 cult classic, I still say, WTF son!
According to Comingsoon.net:
A new version of Scarface is on the way, Deadline reports.
Originally directed for the screen by Howard Hawks in 1932, the story of a gangster's rise to power was based on the 1929 Armitage Trail novel of the same name. In 1983, Brian De Palma offered a modernized update of the story with Al Pacino in the lead, which is the version best known today.
Now, producers Martin Bregma and Marc Shmuger (the former of which produced De Palma's version) are looking for a writer to again update the story to present day with the hint that the new version will steer away from any specific remake elements outside of the basic storyline and the title.

Yesterday we reported that Neyo had become engaged to his baby's mother Monyetta Shaw. Welp, Neyo took to Twitter and said not so fast! According to S2Smagazine.com:
Hold off on buying those wedding gifts, singer Ne-Yo took to Twitter earlier today to announce that he is not engaged to his baby's mother Monyetta Shaw.
“To put all rumors to rest. Not engaged but am expecting second child,” he tweeted in response to a story in US Weekly that reported he and Monyetta were planning to tie the knot.
Many fans were happy to hear that Ne-Yo, who already has one child by the boutique owner, would be “making an honest woman of her,” as they say, but it seems he’s not ready for that level of commitment yet.
However, he hasn’t ruled it out.
“Know that the day I DO decide to take that step you will hear it from the horse’s mouth. Much love,” he wrote.
It's not a huge surprise that Ne-Yo hasn't proposed. In the past, the singer has been reluctant to even refer to Monyetta as his girlfriend. It remains to be seen whether she'll ever achieve wife status.

Usually when we post eye candy it's just for the looks alone. We usually never tell you anything about the person other than the fact they are sweet on the eyes. This time we're going to do a little something different. Our eye candy for this Tuesday morning is Travis Ferguson. He's a different breed of eye candy simply because he doesn't just look good to the eyes, he's actually sweet on the mind too.

What we mean by that is not only is he good to look at, he can actually hold an intelligent conversation. He was born in East Waterloo, Iowa and with a dual degree in Sociology and Mechanical Engineering, one would question why he even wanted to pose in front of a camera. He says its because modeling has always been a dream of his and it's not just a decision he made out of the blue. Travis says modeling is in his blood and if you were to look at his portfolio, you'd be quick to agree with him. If you would like to know more about Mr. Ferguson, be sure to check out the interview he gave us on SeriouslySensual on BlogTalkRadio.

Baseball legend Hank Aaron has established a $100,000 endowed scholarship through his foundation at Clark Atlanta University. The scholarship, from The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation, will support Clark Atlanta students pursuing careers in public service, teaching, social work, humanities, science and medicine.
The first recipient of the scholarship is Elise Barnes, a senior early childhood education major from Naperville, Ill., who received a $4,000 award last spring. The scholarship supports, in perpetuity, one student per year at Clark Atlanta until more students can be supported through additional contributions or growth of the fund.
The foundation hopes to fund 12 such scholarships at colleges and universities across the country. The scholarship name, "4 for 4," references the 12 times in his baseball career that Aaron went 4-for-4 at bat.
<<<< Now this is an example of giving back. I'm sorry, but I have not seen this with many of the athletes of today. They are so busy squandering their money away that they couldn't give back even if they wanted to. Kudos to Mr. Aaron!

Cops say a gunman killed his wife at home before marching into a prayer service at a local church he once attended and shooting two pastors.
57 year old Jeremiah Fogle (seen below) was then tackled by members of the church in Lakeland, Florida, who took his .32-calibre revolver and held him down. Pastor William Boss was shot in the head as he prayed. Associate pastor Carl Stewart was shot in the shoulder, head and back, authorities said.
Her husband had allegedly walked to the church from their home nearby. Mrs Fogle was later found dead in their living room by detectives. He had six live rounds in his pocket and was prepared to shoot even more before he was tackled by ‘heroes’, Sheriff Grady Judd said.
‘We don’t know exactly why he went in to this mad rage,’ he added. ‘He was focused on killing his wife and certainly meant to kill the pastor and assistant pastor.’ The pastor and associate pastor were in a critical but stable condition and were being treated for their injuries at a local hospital.
<<<<<There's really not too much I can say about this, except that I hope they get to the bottom of why Fogle went on a rampage. He obviously targeted the pastors, for what reason we may never know. Most likely, he'll probably go with an insanity defense. Just my opinion.

And baby makes four!
R&B superstar Ne-Yo is set to be a father again -- and he's engaged, too!
The "Closer" singer (real name: Shaffer Chimere Smith) and his longtime girlfriend, Atlanta boutique owner Monyetta Shaw, are engaged and expecting their second child together, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
Ne-Yo, 31, became a first-time dad in November 2010, when Shaw gave birth to daughter Madilyn Grace.
According to a source, baby number two is due very soon -- in October.
As she awaits the special arrival, Shaw is already hard at work opening Emaralyn and Ester, a new boutique in Atlanta's Buckhead district.
Ne-Yo was over the moon when Madilyn was born last fall. "She's healthy and happy. Feels like I'm in luv for the first time," he tweeted. "Welcoming that lil' girl to the world last night defined for me what 'willing to kill and die for' truly means. My world, my life, all hers."

Uh oh! Actor Alec Baldwin is in hot water today after tweeting the “N” word over the weekend! Apparently he’s a huge fan of Kanye & Jay Z’s new album Watch The Throne but his tweets got him in trouble.
He was referring to the Kanye West and Jay-Z song, “Ni**as In Paris” when he tweeted this:
I love that song NIGGAS IN PARIS!!!I love Kanye!!I love @IrelandBBaldwin most of all!!!
Kanye and I are doing a song calledNIGGAS IN MONTAUK.My album is calledMY BEAUTIFUL PALE TWISTED FANTASY.
Everybody say....KAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN-YEAH!
Anyone who thinks that quoting the title of that song is racist is a disgrace. To the human race.
Fans blew up his Twitter account to complain about the tweet. But it doesn’t seem like he’s offering any apologies.
Do you think Alec was out of line…I mean that is the name of the song?
<<<<< I don't use the 'N' word. I hate it because it is a derogatory term that all people should expunge from their vocabularies. That said, while I don't agree with it, the word is in the title of the song. However I do believe Alec Baldwin should have used the alternative way of posting the word. I think that he may have gotten less flack if he did. I would say he should have enough common sense to know better, but over the past few years it appears that his common sense has been lacking...

Oh my! Wells Fargo customers are really upset with the bank’s latest plot to take money out of folks bank account! Starting November 14th customers will have to pay $15 a month to keep their current account type if they don’t have an average of $7,500 in the bank, across all of their accounts.
This fee applies to customers with the Wells Fargo Complete Advantage checking account package. Prior to the upcoming changes, the bank would waive the $15 monthly fee.
But starting in November Wells Fargo will no longer allow the $75 automated monthly transfer as one of the qualifications for waiving the monthly fee. Now customers must maintain a combined balance of over $7500 dollars AT ALL TIMES across qualifying accounts with Wells Fargo to have the monthly $15 fee waived.
We already toldja Wells Fargo is testing a plan to charge a $3 fee every time you use your debit card! DAMN!
If this applies to you, you should consider contacting your bank and learning about other options or just take your money & ROLL!
Wells Fargo, SunTrust Bank and Regions Bank are among the largest institutions that have begun charging customers when a debit card is used to make a purchase. What was once a free perk has now become a recurring charge that has angered many customers.
Wells Fargo’s basic checking has also cut free online bill pay from its list of services. It now costs $6.95 per month unless the customer maintains a $5,000 combined monthly balance.
It’s not just Wells Fargo, Citibank is also raising the monthly fee on its basic checking account.
The new fee for Citibank account holders will be $2 more at $10 per month. Customers will be able to waive the fee if they maintain a balance of $1,500 or if they sign up for direct deposit and online bill pay.
Currently, the monthly charge is waved if customers make at least five transactions of any type each month.
The bank will no longer give reward points for debit card purchases.
The changes take effect in December.
Will monthly fees make you leave Wells Fargo, Citibank and others?
<<<<< Heck yeah monthly fees would make me leave! Why should I have to pay a fee to use my ATM card to take out my money? And maintain a balance of $7,500 or pay $15/month??? REALLY??? Let's face it, most people are NOT ballin' like that to be able to maintain that balance. Nowadays, many people are living paycheck to paycheck. I can most definitely say that if I would part ways with any bank that tried to impose such limits on me and my money.

Joint pain, arthritis and other musculoskeletal health issues are rapidly disabling America. Arthritis, for example, is the single greatest cause of chronic pain and disability among Americans. The impact however, is worse among two segments of the population: African Americans and women.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that severe joint pain, activity and work limitations due to arthritis were significantly higher among these groups in comparison to the rest of the population
...and this health crisis is getting worse.
Last year, various national health surveys demonstrated that African-Americans disproportionally bear the burden of impaired daily living affected by arthritis and related disabilities. Additionally, arthritis increases the chances for comorbidity in African-Americans. These diseases include diabetes, heart disease and obesity--medical conditions that can be improved with physical activity.
“The physical and economic burden of arthritic pain and disability is an important connecting thread in the dialogue about health disparities among women and racial/ethnic minorities, yet it is not being widely discussed,” said Charles Nelson M.D, assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgical Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a steering committee member at the caucus.
An estimated 4.6 million African Americans are living with arthritis.
Arthritis in the United States
• Arthritis affects 50 million adults in the United States, making it one of the most prevalent health conditions among U.S. adults and the most common cause of disability.
• Eighty percent of Americans either have or know someone with arthritis and the numbers continue to escalate.
• Arthritis costs the nation more than $128 billion a year in medical care and lost earnings in 2003.
• The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis (OA), impacts 27 million Americans.
• Obesity accelerates the onset of arthritis, 70 percent of obese adults with mild knee OA at sixty will develop advanced end-stage disease by the age of 80.
• Obesity and other chronic health conditions exacerbate the debilitating impact of arthritis, leading to inactivity, loss of independence, and perpetuating a cycle of chronic conditions.
• The prevalence of physical inactivity was highest among those with both arthritis and obesity (22.7%) when compared with arthritis only (16.1%) obesity only (13.5%) and neither condition (9.4%).
• Obesity prevalence among adults with arthritis (35.2%) is significantly higher than adults with no arthritis (23.6%).
• One in five Americans suffer from doctor-diagnosed arthritis, but the impact is worse among three segments of the population. African-Americans and women experience more severe joint pain, activity and work limitation due to arthritis.
Disparities Among African-Americans
• African-Americans and Hispanics were 1.3 times more likely to have activity limitation; 1.6 times more likely to have work limitations, and 1.9 times more likely to have severe joint pain than Whites.
• African-Americans, compared to Whites, report a higher proportion of work limitations (39.5% vs. 28%) and a higher prevalence of arthritis-attributable work limitation (6.6% vs. 4.6%).
• African-Americans have a higher prevalence of knee symptoms, radiographic knee osteoarthritis and symptomatic knee osteoarthritis than Whites.
• White men were 2 to 5 times more likely to undergo total knee replacement and 2 to 3 times more likely to undergo total hip replacement than African-American men.
• In 2000, African-American Medicare enrollees were 37 percent less likely than White Medicare enrollees to undergo total knee replacements. In 2006, the disparity increased to 39 percent.
• Even after adjusting for insurance and health access, African Americans are almost 50 percent less likely to undergo total knee replacement than Whites.
• African-Americans are more likely to use praying and hoping as a primary means to manage their osteoarthritis pain than Whites.
• When it comes to the uptake of proven medical treatments for OA, such as total joint replacement (TJR), differences in perceptions contribute to a situation in which African-Americans are less likely than Whites to have heard of TJR as a treatment for OA or to have had a family member or friend who had benefited from TJR.
• Due to higher rates of obesity and routinely delayed utilization of surgical interventions, African-American patients have worse preoperative hip and knee function before arthroplasty than White patients.
• Non-Hispanic Blacks have the highest rates of obesity (44.1%) compared with Mexican Americans (39.3%), all Hispanics (37.9%) and non-Hispanic whites (32.6%)

But that is to be expected in when you soak in a tub of eels; if you're gonna do it, make sure you're wearing something airtight to cover your nether region.
Fifty-six year old Zhang Nan was bathing in a tub of eels, for the purpose of having the dead skin on his body nibbled away. Unfortunately for him, an eel wriggled it's way into his penis. Ewwwwwww!
Nan felt a sharp pain, realized a 6-inch eel had entered his penis and was wriggling up through his urethra. He tried to pull it out but its tiny body was too slippery to hold, and it disappeared up his penis and into his bladder...(Source: Los Angeles Times)
Have you heard of, or tried, that spa treatment where you soak your feet in a pedicure tub filled with tiny fish that eat away the dead skin? I remember seeing an episode of The View and a couple of the ladies tried the technique; however, they didn't have the experience of this man in China. Then again, they weren't soaking in a tub of eels.<

In this economy, it's not surprising that there are scams a-plenty occurring; a Texas girl decided to take advantage.
According to the NY Daily News, eighteen year old Angie Gomez led her community to believe she had leukemia; asking for their support, she, fraudulently, raised over $17,000:
In January, the pretty brunette told her friends, church members and classmates at Horizon High that she was suffering from terminal blood cancer and had just six months to live.
Her friends, parents, church members and other locals, rallied around the cause, throwing a special prom and other fundraisers to help Gomez fight the disease.
Hundreds gathered at motivational talks and fundraisers, where Gomez spun stories about battling leukemia from age 2 until 13.
She claimed that the disease had recently come back and wasn't curable.
Creating a fake foundation called "Achieve The Dream", she received money and other donations. She was found out when investigators decided to check out her story:
But a three-month investigation concluded earlier this month found out that she was a fraud.
"There is nothing to indicate she had cancer," Horizon City police Detective Liliana Medina told the El Paso Times. "There are no medical records, no doctors."
Investigators subpoenaed the phony foundation's bank records after someone complained that the peppy brunette appeared happy and healthy in June - six months after she claimed she was dying.
Hospital records showed that no one named Angie Gomez had been treated for cancer at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., or at St. Jude Children's Hospital, where Gomez had claimed she practically lived as a child.
Some people in the community found her story suspicious but didn't say anything; some felt that it was wrong to be suspicious of a supposedly sick and dying person.
The police have filed state felony charges against Gomez, but she has not been arrested; the DA is still reviewing the case, so an arrest may be in her future.

That's is the look I had on my face the entirety of this video. You have to listen to what he's saying and you will see why. I just couldn't fathom that he was serious. He says white men don't want white women that black men have had and that 1 in 5 black men have HIV. So he says white men don't want white women anymore because all the black men have run trains on them. O.O *blank stare*

I am part of a sect, a sect of people around the Nation called, "Broke A*s College Students". Yes, BROKE! We fell for the hype of the American dream, go to college, extend your careers for what? (watches tumbleweed roll down the barren streets), as Kanye West said in "School Spirit Skit 2" via the College Drop out album,
For what? To step in to the Great Recession, thanks to the lovely money hungry elite. With that being said, hey, why not attack the Nation's stimulus in a different way. I love this idea in helping the economy grow,
The Clutch reports,
Fact: “For over 30 years, the rich have gotten richer, the poor have gotten poorer, and the middle class is slowly but surely being squeezed out of existence.” How long can this trend continue, and to what end? Most importantly, what should be done about it?
Hansen Clarke (D-MI) proposes a solution in the form of a bold economic stimulus strategy that directs debt forgiveness to the middle class American (taxpayer) rather than super-rich, corporate elite. H. Res 365 asks congress to bestow their billion dollar charitable bailouts to debt-ridden college students. Reversing a talking point favorite, it’s considered more of a trickle-up approach to fortifying the economy that aims to strengthen the middle class, rather than bring it to its knees.
Once the required amount of signatures are received, the following letter will be forwarded to the US Congress and President Barack Obama:
“Forgiving the student loan debt of all Americans will have an immediate stimulative effect on our economy. With the stroke of the President’s pen, millions of Americans would suddenly have hundreds, or in some cases, thousands of extra dollars in their pockets each and every month with which to spend on ailing sectors of the economy. As consumer spending increases, businesses will begin to hire, jobs will be created and a new era of innovation, entrepreneurship and prosperity will be ushered in for all. A rising tide does, in fact, lift all boats – forgiving student loan debt, rather than tax cuts for corporations, millionaires and billionaires, has a MUCH greater chance of helping to rise that tide in a MUCH shorter time-frame. The future economic success of this country is wholly dependent upon a well-educated, prosperous middle class. Instead of saddling entire generations with debt from which there is no escape, let’s empower the American people to grow this economy on their own!
Therefore, we, the undersigned, strongly encourage Congress and the President to support H. Res 365, introduced by Rep. Hansen Clarke (D-MI), seeking student loan forgiveness as a means of economic stimulus.”
What's your thoughts? I know mine. Give us Free and Let's do this!

Common, I heart you and I'm not saying this just because I crush the man either but, something about him is inspiring and he makes sure he always leaves you with a lesson, that is why this book about his memoir should hopefully, touch many.
According to Bossip,
In this deeply personal, introspective memoir, Common unveils himself, layer by layer, from his childhood on the streets of the South Side of Chicago; to grappling with the decision to leave college, disappointing his mother, and pursuing a career in hip hop; to emerging as a talented recording artist faced with all the trappings of fame and success but working hard to remain true to himself and the people who’d supported him along the way. “People who know me as Common might find it hard to believe some of the things that made me Rashid,” says Common. “That’s partly why I’ve written this book, so that I can show myself as a man in full. That means telling some tough truths, revealing my faults and vulnerabilities. But it also means showing the true strength of my character.”
Yesterday, Common kicked-off the launch of his book tour at Barnes & Noble in New York where he was interviewed by MTV’s resident VJ, Sway, before a crowd of over 300 fans.
The groupie in me just made plans, You can get a chance to have Common himself sign a copy of his latest Memoir at these locations (also check out an expert of the Prologue Below thanks to Bossip):

In MJ News (R.I.P), according to Yahoo News,
Michael Jackson's estate has generated more than $310 million in the two years since the pop singer died deeply in debt, enabling executors to distribute a preliminary payment of $30 million to Jackson's mother and children, and to unnamed charities, according to recently filed court documents.
Executors also disclosed Tuesday that Jackson's mother, Katherine, is putting the family's fabled Encino compound up for sale and wants the executors to negotiate the purchase of a new residence for her and the children, Paris, Prince and Michael Joseph Jr., known as Blanket.
The Encino property, where Jackson grew up and where several of his siblings lived in a cottage near their parents' home was appraised at $4.15 million in 2010 but has since undergone extensive renovation. Katherine Jackson and the children moved out and have been living at a leased Calabasas home that is for sale for about $10 million. The executors said Katherine Jackson has identified a number of homes in that price range that would suit her needs and that of the children.
The executors said the trust and the California attorney general's office, which is representing charities as beneficiaries of the estate, have been pressing for distribution of funds.
Is it me, or does it seem like even in death MJ is the hardest working man? He can't rest without being a cash hound. I really hope all of this selling of his estate is to pay off the supposed debits he had. What's your thoughts?

Should I be smiling while reporting this? No? Well I am. Why you may ask? Because it's all about my girl karma and it's coming to bite Alicia square in the ass!
According to Bossip.com Swizz's side piece lost her phone and now folks are putting all of her business all over the internet! If you click that above link right there you'll see screen shots of of very recent texts between Swizz and the side piece. Her name is actually Christina and she's known the superstar producer since 2007. She's also said to be another one of the reasons Swizz and MaShonda's marriage ended. Now Ms. Christina has come forward and confirmed that her phone was indeed lost and that she has indeed been chilling (sexting) with Swizzy! Now Alicia would like everyone to believe that this is all some joke and that she's somewhere laughing at it. Sorry boo, but the jokes on you and has always been.
In a statement made to Bossip Christina said:
I’m only making this statement because I’m being put out there as a liar and I am very embarrassed. I would like to confirm that the rumor about Swizz Beatz cheating on Mashonda with me is absolutely true. I would also like to confirm that the rumors about Swizz “sexting” me, even in his present marriage, are absolutely true. I am also confirming that I lost my cell phone and someone else posted all the stuff that you see on the internet.
I’ve known Kasseem since 2007. We met at Solange Knowles’ (whom I do not associate with) birthday party in Houston, TX. A gentleman from Kasseem’s entourage approached me and said that someone wanted to talk to me. After I asked who it was, he pointed at Kasseem. I knew he was “Swizz Beatz”, but I did not know anything else about him. I gave him my phone number and he called me right away and invited me to eat at Katz’ Deli on Montrose Blvd. The next morning, he invited me to accompany him at Radio One (979 The Box) for his interview. Afterwards, we went back to his hotel room but we DID NOT HAVE SEX. A couple of hours later, he had to leave so he could catch his flight. He hugged and kissed me in public as if he were a single man.

A glass of wine a day can keep the doctors away ladies. At least that's what this new study says. According to glamour.com :
According to a brand new study, moderate drinking (a glass per day for women) is associated with an array of health benefits, namely greater health in old age and the chance that you'll live longer, too.
Yes, we've been hearing the same thing from researchers for years. A recent study from University of Texas, Austin, found that moderate drinkers (and in some cases, even heavy drinkers) outlive their peers, and a 2008 Harvard study found that red wine had anti-aging effects in mice. Plus, there was the March 2010 study that found that wine-drinking women may be thinner than gals who don't drink wine.
So, feel good about a glass of wine now and then, seems to be the takeaway message here!

DALLAS - A two-year-old girl is in critical condition in the hospital and her mother is charged with torturing her and inflicting the damage that put her there.
Police said the abuse started with a frantic call from 22-year-old Elizabeth Escalona to her mother, saying something was wrong with her two year old daughter, Joselyn Cedillo.
When the child's grandmother got to the home she could see just what was wrong. The little girl was unresponsive.
A relative tells News 8 the child had broken bones, bruises and head injuries. The grandmother and other relatives desperately tried to help Joselyn and rushed her to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
“We just know we picked up the baby and she was hurt," the child's aunt told News 8.
According to police records, Joselyn suffered greatly.
According to police reports, Escalona dragged her daughter by her feet from the kitchen area to another part of the apartment. She then glued her child’s hands and stuck them to the wall until they bled. She then allegedly hit the girl in the stomach with a jug of milk, kicked her in the stomach and beat her with a shoe and a belt.
“Yeah she was extremely bruised," the aunt said. "She had a head concussion, she had a broken leg and broken ribs. We don't know how it happened, but she was covered in bruises."
Police said numerous people say they'd seen Escalona inflict pain on the child in the past. Now, the little girl may have extensive brain damage and countless injuries.
"She was a good kid," the aunt said. "She's playful like any other kid. Spoiled and she's like a little princess."
Police said the torture began because the little girl soiled in her pants, and this was her punishment.
Dallas police child abuse detectives arrested Escalona for injury to a child. Child Protective Services has taken custody of Joselyn and three other siblings.

Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard left a life-threatening message on a stranger's voicemail, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained the shocking audio.
In the message, left early in the morning of August 31, Terrence identifies himself before going off on an angry tirade about the source calling his wife.
"N**ga, you been calling my wife... If you call my wife again I'm going to come to your house and I'm going to cut your f***ing throat," Terrence says in the message.
"Understand that. I'm gonna tell you this one time. You call my wife again, I'm going to kill you.
According to the source, just five days prior, a female friend of his said she got Terrence's phone number from another friend. After a night of drinking with the source, she decided to prank call Terrence and leave a message expressing her undying love.
"Her phone was dead, so she used mine and left about a three-minute voicemail professing her love for him," the source -- who wishes to remain anonymous -- told RadarOnline.com.
"But apparently the call was made to his wife's phone, not his. I'm assuming she got the voicemail of my friend gushing about Terrence and questioned him about it."
On September 7, Terrence again called the source and left another voicemail, but this time to apologize.
"I'm so sorry for calling you and speaking that way," Terrence said. "I thought you were somebody that's been harassing my wife. Please forgive me."
Check out his apology here:
The Hustle & Flow actor's voice is unmistakable in both messages, and RadarOnline.com has confirmed that Terrence made the calls.
"I was shocked when I got another voicemail from him, but it didn't surprise me that he'd probably realized what he did and wanted to try to patch it up," the source said.
Not only did Terrence leave the source a second voicemail, but he sent him a text message as well, also obtained by RadarOnline.com.
"My wife told me that she was receiving obscene text from you and that she was being harassed. Therefore I responded with the protective nature that a husband has for his wife," Terrence wrote.
"Forgive me for the anger, but as you are watching over your girl friend, I too am devoted to my love."
Terrence and his wife, Michelle Ghent, wed in a secret ceremony in 2010 and by February of 2011 she had already filed for divorce, although it appears the couple has reconciled.
RadarOnline.com reached out for comment from Terrence's rep, but has received no response.
When asked if the source had a personal message for Terrence he stated: "All I have to say is, it's hard out here for a pimp."
<<<<<WOW!!! Ok here's what I don't understand; the person who left the voicemail professing her undying love for him was a female, and yet he used the 'N' word to address the caller. What's up with that? I mean did she sound like a man or what? And I find it funny that the caller supposedly got Howard's number from a friend, but called Howard's wife's phone instead. And what about the person who is allegedly harassing his wife, if there indeed is such a person. I wonder why there's no record of that. So many questions, not nearly enough answers...

Just about any "bad" food can be part of your weight loss plan if you stick to small enough portions. In fact, dietitians advise against banning your favorite treats. Depriving yourself of the foods you crave could set you up for failure. A better strategy is to set limits on quantity.
Seductive foods seem to lurk at every turn, especially when you're trying to lose weight. But many foods that have gotten a bad rap aren't so terrible after all.
Learn which tempting treats can actually help you lose weight and keep it off:
Eggs
When it comes to healthy eating, few foods have sparked as much debate as eggs. The latest research suggests an egg a day is safe and nutritious for most adults -- and if you eat that egg for breakfast, you'll boost your odds of losing weight. The reason: Eggs are packed with protein, which takes time to digest. Eating protein in the morning keeps your stomach full, so you eat less during the rest of the day.
Steak
For years, health experts have been admonishing us to eat less red meat. But steak is not always bad for the waistline. In fact, a lean cut of beef has barely more saturated fat than a similar-sized skinless chicken breast. Like eggs, steak is loaded with protein and can keep you feeling full longer. To get plenty of protein with less fat, choose tenderloin, sirloin, or other extra-lean cuts -- and limit portions to the size of your palm.
Pork
Talk about a bad reputation -- the term "pork" is used to describe all kinds of excess, so it's no wonder dieters often steer clear. Here's a case where the meat itself is not what it used to be. Today's cuts of pork tenderloin are 31% leaner than 20 years ago. That makes this white meat a lean source of protein with benefits similar to those of lean beef.
Pasta
Rather than avoiding pasta when you're dieting, make the switch to whole grain and keep your portions small. Research suggests people who eat several servings of whole-grain foods per day are more likely to slim down and maintain healthy weights. According to one study, eating whole grains rather than refined grains can also help burn belly fat.
Nuts
Nuts may be high in fat, but it's the good kind. And they are also rich in nutrients, protein, and fiber, which can help stabilize blood sugar. Sure, you'll get a few extra grams of fat from munching on a handful of nuts, but it's worth it if it helps you avoid reaching for cookies or other sweets. Even peanut butter can be a dieter's friend. Studies show small amounts of this favorite food can control hunger without causing weight gain.
Cheese
Dieters often try to cut calories by nixing calcium-rich dairy foods, but some studies suggest this is a mistake. One theory is that the body burns more fat when it gets enough calcium, so eating low-fat cheese, yogurt, and milk may actually contribute to weight loss. Calcium supplements don't seem to yield the same benefits, so high-calcium diets may have other factors at work as well.
Coffee
Coffee only falls in the "bad" category when you drink too much of it or mix in cream, sugar, or flavored syrups. If you drink it black, you get a metabolism boost without added fat and calories. Drink it skinny: Stir in skim milk for added calcium and vitamin D, and artificial sweetener or one teaspoon of sugar.

Whether it's to recover emotionally after the dissolution of a relationship; for religious reasons; to focus on other areas of one's life; to gain sexual control; to hold out for the 'right one'; or for a different reason, some adults choose to close up shop until they feel the time is right to once again let loose. First, what in the world is 'sex surrogacy'? According to The Times of India, sex surrogacy is a controversial, therapeutic practice used to help those whose physical or mental health problems prevent them from enjoying a healthy sex life. How? Well, according to Fox News (yeah, I know), sex therapists who practice this may use a hands-on approach to help patients who need more than 'talking' to help them with their intimacy issues. That's right folks, a sex therapist that uses this particular technique may actually become a surrogate sex partner for a patient. Apparently, even though the practice is not common, this is occurring more with patients that are women.
"More and more women are now claiming their birth right to either have an orgasm, or healthy relationship or have sexual satisfaction," CBS News quoted Shai Rotem, a surrogate partner who is based in Los Angeles but practices internationally, as saying. (Source: The Times of India)
According to Fox News, the practice began in the 1970s and tapered off recently; however, according to the International Professional Surrogates Association (ISPA), there has been an increase in the number of requests from women patients, as well as an increase in the number of certified male surrogate partners. Surrogate partners help patients with their communication skills and self-confidence, so they become comfortable with intimacy. While this practice is not recommended for everyone, there is some evidence that it works for some.<

Today in Shanksville, Penn, the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who fought against the hijackers on 9/11, were honored at the Flight 93 National Memorial, according to USA Today.
The names of the passengers and crew aboard that flight on Sept. 11 were read aloud Saturday under grey skies in a field soggy with rain at the memorial dedicated in their honor. A bell rang after each name and the plaintive sound of bagpipes followed as the skies finally opened for the sun. The Rev. Daniel Coughlin, who was the U.S. House Chaplain at the time of the attacks, called the sacrifices made by the passengers and crew "willing seed for freedom's harvest...They refused to be paralyzed...They break the silence and decidedly act together. They do only what is possible in an impossible situation," he said in the invocation. "Because they are your children, they find within themselves, true freedoms."
The marble engraved "Wall of Names", listing the names of the 40 men and women, was unveiled today. The dedication was witnessed by hundreds of people in the area, who had to go through traffic and long lines at the security check in. A viewing plaza is just the first phase in the memorial dedication; those who visit the site will be allowed within one hundred yards of the crash site, but only family members will be able to enter the actual crash site area. The next phase of the memorial will be a visitor center and a structure called "The Tower of Voices", which will be a 93 ft chamber containing a cylindrical wind chime for each Flight 93 victim.
The plan is to include audio testimonials by relatives of the dead and first responders to the crash scene and an exhibit of artifacts from the plane and items left by visitors at the temporary memorial, about half a mile from the crash site. When the memorial is finished, it will include 40 groves of 40 trees planted over 2,200 acres.
It is expected that up to seven thousand people will visit the memorial between today and tomorrow.<

Born in Charleston, West Virginia in July of 1968, Monda Webb was brought into this world while both parents attended West Virginia State, thus the nickname “campus baby”.
She attended the University of Rhode Island on a basketball scholarship and switched to track in 1987, where she held the school triple jump record of 40 feet for several years. She graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism in May 1990.
By 1999, Monda thought heavily of her own mortality, and figured if she died tomorrow, what would she have wanted to accomplish? The answer came quickly. She’d share the poems she’d been writing for several years with the world. She self-published a book of poetry in 2000. Seven years later, Monda published her first novel after “playing around” with it for 10 years. Her ultimate goal? To be write several “unforgettable” novels, short stories poetry books, produce film projects as a co-owner of a production company, and to host her own television show. Her titles include 'A Peek Into My Soul Redux', which is a book of poetry; '7:33 am - You Will Never Look at Time the Same Way Again; her first novel; and another book of poetry entitled 'Life is Like a Soul Train Line'.
Join us Friday at 8:00 pm EST as we get to know the lady behind the words. Tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend about us, and see you all Friday night.<

Now I've heard of some motives for robbing a store, but this one takes the cake. Two Wal-Mart employees rob the store they worked at and one claimed to do it so she could go forward with a sex change operation. Chile, it is really not that serious. If you were supposed to be the opposite sex, you would have been born that way, in my humble opinion.
According to the HuffingtonPost:
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Police in Arizona say two Walmart employees burglarized the store where they worked to pay for a car and a sex change operation.
Police arrested 23-year-old Spencer Danger Cullen and 19-year-old Adriano Valdes Altiveros III on Friday.
Reinhardt says Altiveros reportedly told detectives he stole cash to buy a car. He says Cullen told police she stole the money to go forward with a sex change operation.
Cullen and Altiveros remain in custody. The Yavapai County public defender's office would not say Wednesday whether the pair had been appointed attorneys.
Prescott is about 80 miles north of Phoenix.<

Here we go with another case of the Angry Black Man Syndrome (ABMS) and Male Bishassness for 2011.
According to AskKissy, Looks like The Dream wants to air his business and put former wife Christina Milian out there even after we have virtually forgotten about his lame, him and their relationship with his track "Use 2 Be". Like a leaf in the wind, I need him and his "hey" to move on and be content in producing and writing. Anyway, this track, lets him vent, which he has a right to do but, its, annoying! I'm sure this will be every ABMS who feels as if he didn't have his own equal dirt in a relationship's anthem. Go head and get your single fellas dance on. Take a listen to the resentful track, check out the hating lyrics and enjoy more male bishassness for 2011.
Use 2 Be Lyrics
Say I’m fucked up,
Well, you just might be fucked up too
I might be fucked up
Well baby girl, how about you?
[Verse 1]
You used to be my nigga
You used to be that cool bitch
You used to smoke wit’ a nigga
But now you on that bullshit
You used to sex me crazy
You used to call me baby
Now all you do it nag me like a 5 year old from the backseat
You used to be so confident
But all that shit came and went
Used to be anti-internet
But now you constantly blogging and shit!
You used to strip for a nigga
Now you ain’t got nothing but lip for a nigga
Halfway decent for me, but you dress up for your girlfriends?
Listening to what they say got your ass without a husband
Put you in a Benz, you did everything to get me
Ain’t did nothing since but keep talking about what it should be
Car note, daycare, paid all the fucking rent
Know you wanna run the world
But first, try running this
But yall don’t hear me, oh, oh, oh

Mos Def, WHY!!! I mean I'm feeling the name but still. Oh well I still luv me some you. According to BlackMedia Scoop, Mr. Def is set to change his name to his real government one , "Yasiin" (apparently Dante Terrell Smith was not his real government name).
Mos states,
“I’m retiring the Mos Def name after 2011. I’m actually doing it. Yasiin. Mos Def is a name that I built and cultivated over the years, it’s a name that the streets taught me, a figure of speech that was given to me by the culture and by my environment, and I feel I’ve done quite a bit with that name and it’s time to expand and move on. Also, I didn’t want to have to deal with having any moniker or separation between the self that I see and know myself as.”
Time to pour a drink in memory to the artist formally known as Mos Def. *le sigh*<

According to Global Grind, Kelly Reveals in an interview,
“There’s so much peer pressure growing up, I had an identity crisis. I went to a predominantly white school and I was the only black girl. I can remember thinking: ‘I don’t want to be as dark as I am – I want to be a little fairer.’ I didn’t want to be me…Tina sat me in front of the mirror and said: ‘Girl, look at how pretty you are.’ She made me feel comfortable in my own skin.”
Why Kelly! I mean considering the historical psycho-social power dynamic and stigma behind the idea, and how media loves to express their idea of what beauty is, it still saddens me to see a woman as beautiful as Kelly Rowland is, also battle the same issues that many young Black girls deal with every day. This is not really new information but it is good information to talk about.

Though I applaud Kelly for saying Tina Knowles sat her down and taught her how to love her skin, can you really say that it held water as she grew up? Being a member of a successful group that, if you look closely, very much so profited off the very, Light Skin VS Dark Skin mentality that is plaguing media and the Black Community, can you really wonder why Kelly may have had such a hard time forming her own self identity?
We need to do better and with more conversations and more people stepping out, we can find the means to tell all our young black girls of every hue that they are beautiful, because if you look, it seems the idea of black beauty is becoming lighter and lighter to the point of no melanin at all or to the point of eliminating American Blackness in support of African Diaspora mixed with something extra (Latina, Caribbean, Asian, German, etc.), like we are mixing a bowl of cookies. Black is Black, love it all and let's teach our children to love all of our shades regardless of where we are in the World. I applaud Kelly for taking the reigns in putting this conversation out there, hopeful, she will continue and start programs to help our young Black girls and even grown women who still battle with this generational stigma. What's your thoughts?<

Souljia Boy calls himself going "in" or being the voice of the angry youth? Naw, Soulija Boy looses misplaces his mind and decides to make a simple comment, that angers the U.S. Department of Defense, causing them to choose to ban Mr. S.B from selling any of his albums near 3,100 bases. What was this comment? and wow Souljia Boy had a lot of military fans huh?
According to The Clutch, Mr. S.B uttered these words from his track "Let's Be Real",
Im On Da Loose
F*ck Da F.B.I. & F*ck All Da Army Troop
Fightin’ For What
B*tch Be Yo Own Man
(Gives a Otis Yell and shakes head) Given the fact that these people, fight everyday for us and protect this nation, he should have worded that better if it was something he just HAD to say otherwise respect would have been nice. After the blurb and apparently the angry Department of Defense smackdown, (First off, I can not imagine the big boys in the department sitting down and listening to his music on their iPod! Second, What made them check out his lyrics in the first place?), Mr. S.B. promptly went to the net typing up a apology on Global Grind,
As an artist, I let my words get the best of me. Sometimes there are things that we feel, things that we want to express, and when we put them on paper and speak them out loud, they can come out wrong.
When I expressed my frustration with the US Army, not only did my words come out wrong, I was wrong to even speak them. So, I write this to give my sincerest apology to all members of the United States military services, as well as their families that were offended by my most recent lyrics.
As a young man who grew up in the post-9/11 era, I have watched our country fight two wars that seem like they are never going to end.
I have seen thousands and thousands of our brave men and women get killed in battle and often times, I think for what? A lot of people in this country are struggling to make ends meet and I think a lot about what if we had never gone to war.
Where would our economy be? Our schools, our after-school and work programs, our streets? I mean, damn, 48 people got shot in New York City just this past weekend … in 3 days … I’m not saying that it is just because of a bad economy, but at a certain point we have to take care of our own people.
In no way would I ever want to offend those who are protecting our freedoms … a lot of homeboys who I grew up with, a lot of people who come from the neighborhoods we live in … In no way do I want to hurt any of our honorable soldiers who put their lives at risk, regardless of how they feel about the two wars we fight in.
I am just frustrated that we haven’t been able to bring you all home quick enough and my frustration got the best of me. I am deeply sorry.
Who is his PR team, they sure wrote the heck outta of this apology...or if he really did it, I'm side eying him and his intellectual word play here, he could do so much better in the rap game if he really wrote this. But that's my thoughts. What's yours!<

Natasha O.
Bestselling author
She is a Southern girl at heart who loves the Lord, her kids, soul music, fried fish on Fridays, and collard greens on Sundays. She hates to lose anything--including weight and attributes her bad eyesight to reading in the dark long after her parents told her to go to bed. She went to college, earning a master's degree; but her true education came when her husband and soul mate (Ken) told her that she should pursue her dream of writing. Failure almost caused her not to write the bestselling book, Airing Grandma's Laundry and Other Hush Hush Family Secrets. Her debut novel is not urban fiction is it more old school fiction. She is a history and biography buff and loves the era of the 1940's and 1950's in Black culture where there was more cohesiveness in the Black community. The roles were more defined -women were women and men were men and it was that premise that makes the book a dynamic read and book club favorite. http://www.natashao.com
Suzetta Perkins
Bestselling author
She is the author of Behind the Veil; A Love So Deep; EX-Terminator, Life After Marriage; Déjà vu, and a contributing author of My Soul to His Spirit. We all know Ms. Co-Co. You may remember her better though as being Ice-T's bottom b*tch (or his wife as he calls her)!

Ms. Amber Rose. While I must admit she is a beautiful woman, I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that she's famous because she dated Kanye West or the fact that most people don't know she's actually African American.

Ms. Kim Kardashian. I have no idea the fascination with this one. I just don't get it, but you all love her so here she goes!

The video vixen Ms. Chyna White!

The video vixen Ms. Ashley Logan.

The video vixen Cyn Santana!

Don't know who she is, but she was worth an honorable mention.<

With some help from Essence.com we've come up with the 8 types of sex every woman should experience no matter what stage she's at in her life. I think these types of sex are the best and often leads to mind blowing pleasure. Here we go!>
1. The Quickie: Now we all know with the right person at the right time, a quickie can be the best thing since sliced bread! So what you only have five of fifteen minutes? If that man knows what he's doing he can hit that g-spot quick, fast, and hard and make you see your after life and the one before that one too!
2. Role Play Sex: Now you know as well as I do that some good role playing can take sex to all new heights and leave your mind blown. I know a lot of people think that you have to buy all of these sex toy props to make this one work, but not necessarily. If your man is the right kind of man he knows just when to let go of his usual routine and blow your mind with something new. Like if he's usually all gentle and affectionate during love making, and all of a sudden he walks in grabs your ass, pulls your hair, and rip your boy shorts right off? Yeah, can you say dripping wet?
3. Shower Sex: OMG! One of the best things ever but only if he knows what he's doing and you know how to arch your ass just right. Then again he can be a Beast Master, pick you up, and put your back against the wall with your legs wrapped around his waist and power drive that thang home! HA!
4. Sex on the Beach: No, I'm not talking about the cocktail! The next time you and your boo thang get to go to a beach wait until the perfect time to find the perfect location on the beach and have the perfect sex! Nothing like the sound of waves crashing against the shore to stimulate the senses.
5. You're Going To Miss My Loving SEX: You know what I'm talking about. That last time sex. You know that, we're breaking up but I just need to show you what you're walking away from sex? Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. LOL!
6. OMG! We're Gonna Get Caught Sex: HA! This kinds of sex is usually in a public place or at one of your parents house in the bathroom and he's got his hand over your mouth trying to muffle your pleasurable moans. This is one of the best especially if your boo thang knows what the hell he's doing!
7. Vacation Sex: This kind goes hand in hand with the sex on the beach since it's usually on vacation that people hit up the beach unless you live in Cali or Florida. Then again, it could be just the fact that you're away from the stress of work and life if only for a week or less. Sometimes when you take yourself out of your stressful element the sex can be euphoric!
8. Make Up Sex: I know ya'll know what I'm talking about right now. When you and your boo thang have had that knock down drag out fight and you've both crossed lines that you've come to regret after having time to cool off. This sex is usually spontaneous and orgasmic causing since the man is trying to make you forget that he said some ish he shouldn't have.<

Nicki Minaj is the latest celebrity to pose for Glamour Magazine now that she's featured in their October 2011 issue.
In it, we see Minaj in high-end fashion while explaining her favorite things to do in her downtime and her love for Marilyn Monroe.
“In my downtime, I'm the most low-key person in the world," says the emcee who enjoys watching Wheel Of Fortune and VH1's Mob Wives.
Speaking on Monroe she adds,
"I've always adored Marilyn Monroe mostly for her facial expressions in her pictures."
<<<<<While I am tired of Nicki Minaj and her ultra-weird looks, and while I am not a fan of her blonde wig, some of her Glamour magazine shots are actually very nice and tasteful. Maybe this will lead her in the path of fashion rightness (yeah, I know, but hey you get my point).

Dozens of shell casings lie at the feet of investigators on corner of Franklin Ave and Park Place.
Two cops were wounded in a gun battle Monday night, capping off a terrifying spate of shootings that left four people dead on Monday - one a bystander - and marred Brooklyn's West Indian Day Parade.
The surge of violence wounded eight and put the number of people shot over the weekend around the city to at least 48, including two people who were killed Sunday night. It came the same day the Daily News reported that 24 people were shot in the 24-hour period beginning 6 a.m. Saturday.
The violence culminated in a deadly shootout on Park Place in Crown Heights about 9 p.m., when Leroy Webster, 32, shot Eusi Johnson, 29, to death after they had a fistfight, cops said.
A stray bullet from Webster's pistol pierced through the head of 56-year-old Denise Gay, who was sitting on her front stoop nearby with her daughter, cops said. Gay was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrived and Webster began firing at officers, who shot the gun-wielding man several times, mortally wounding him, sources said.
"There must have been 50 or 60 shots fired," said witness Dana Kellstrom, 25. "I saw two people shot down on the ground. It was incredible. I ran for my life."
Two officers were hit during the gunfight, cops said. A bullet grazed the left arm of Police Officer Avichaim Dicken, who was taken to Methodist Hospital. Officer Omar Medina, 36, was hit in the left arm and chest, police said.

Parade-goers flee in terror after a gunman opened fire on a crowd on Utica Avenue.
He was in stable condition at Brookdale University Hospital. Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly visited both officers last night.
"It was a senseless murder and another painful reminder of of how federal officials fail to take the problem of gun violence seriously," Bloomberg said of Gay's death. "It is a matter of life and death and in this case, the death was of an innocent New Yorker."
Earlier, another man died during J'Ouvert, the traditional predawn celebration leading up to the parade, when bullets struck four men at an East Flatbush barbecue about 12:45 a.m.
Tyrief Gary, 18, was blasted in the chest at the cookout on E. 54th St. Three other men - ages 30, 29 and 26 - were wounded in the barrage, police said. The four were taken to Kings County Hospital, where Gary later died. The others were in stable condition.
"He was only 18," said Dimitry Foster, 18, who went to junior high school with Gary. "He was a good guy. This is shocking."
More violence took place once the parade got underway.
Two men were shot at Eastern Parkway near Rochester Ave. on the sidelines of the massive celebration about 2:30 p.m., police said.
One man was shot in the abdomen and the other in the lower back after they got into a scuffle with the shooter. Both were expected to survive, sources said.
The gunman fled into the panicked crowd.
"Everyone started running," said witness William Long. "I saw people knocking the barricades over."
About a dozen blocks west on Eastern Parkway, the parade's main thoroughfare, near Rogers Ave., a man was shot in the leg about 5 p.m. and taken to Kings County Hospital, officials said.
"He pulled it out and fired off two shots," parade-goer Pauline Mash, 29, said of the gunman. "The crowd just went wild running."
Around 6 p.m., a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the back on Rutland Rd. and Bedford Ave., officials said. He was taken to Kings Country Hospital.
"There were thousands of people out here," said Jerome Philip, 69, who witnessed the stabbing. "It was shoulder to shoulder out here. They couldn't get an ambulance in so they had to wheel him down the block."
At about the same time, a man was shot in the arm on Park Place a few blocks from the route, officials said.
Yet another gunman fired off rounds a few blocks from the parade route, at E. 94th St. and Winthrop Ave., around noon, police said. The shooter was arrested and no one was hit.
The parade-related shootings came after the mayor on Sunday called the weekend's surge in violence "unconscionable."
Among other shootings citywide over the weekend:
* A 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm in a courtyard of the Kingsborough Houses near Dean St. and Ralph Ave. around 6:25 p.m. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital.
* A 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on W. 127th St. in Harlem about 11:45 a.m. Monday and rushed to Harlem Hospital, cops said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
* A 44-year-old man was shot in the right leg at Empire Blvd. and Mckeever Pl. in Brooklyn about 6 a.m. Monday, cops said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
* A man was shot in the torso at Linden Boulevard and Nostrand Ave. in Flatbush, Brooklyn, about 4:20 a.m., cops said. The man, whose name and age were not immediately released, was rushed to Kings County Hospital in very critical condition.
* Two men were shot in the abdomen about 6:40 p.m. Sunday in front of the Marcy Houses on Nostrand Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, cops said. Kenya McCollum, 26, who lived in the Marcy Houses, was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he died. The other victim, a 22-year-old man, was in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
* A 24-year-old man was shot in the head in front of the Unity Plaza Houses on Blake Ave. in Brownsville, Brooklyn, about 10 p.m. Sunday, cops said. Donavan Dallison, of Crown Heights, died at the scene.
* A man was shot in the chest near Second Ave. and E. 99th St. in Manhattan just before midnight Sunday night, cops said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Police spokesmen said they were unaware of any arrests in the shootings.
* A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg at E. 167th St. and Washington Ave. in Morrisania, Bronx, about 6:15 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
* A man was shot in his foot in the Whitman Houses in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, about 1 p.m. Sunday, officials said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
* A woman was shot in her lower back on South Road near Sutphin Blvd. in Jamaica, Queens, about 9 a.m. Sunday. She was in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital yesterday.
<<<<< What is really going on in the NYC??? Over 48 shootings since early Saturday morning, several deaths, and scores of traumatized New Yorkers. What happened to the Law & Order that used to exist in the City not too long ago? The NYPD needs to get a handle on this situation now before major anarchy ensues. Bloomberg complains about the federal government not having a handle on gun violence, however, since that may not happen anytime soon, it's up to the city authorities to do what's necessary to restore some semblance of order and protect the people of New York City.

The number one cause of death in the United States is heart disease. Typically, heart disease deaths are due to plaque clogging the arteries of the heart so that not enough blood reaches the heart.
Medical research is now clear - heart attacks are nearly 100% preventable through dietary and lifestyle changes alone.
Sound unbelievable?
Few doctors dicuss this with their patients and it is rare that you will hear it addressed in this manner by mainstream media or governmental agencies. Nevertheless, the tremendous benefits of lifestyle changes are very much true, and there is much research to prove it.
In 1985, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn began a study in which he got the best results ever recorded in the treatment of heart disease using a very low fat, plant based diet and only a minimal amount of cholesterol lowering medication. The result of the study was a 50% reduction in cholesterol levels.
Modern World = Deadly Health Problems?
The average American has a total cholesterol of just under 200. Yet, many so called underdeveloped regions of the world, where people eat mostlty plant based foods and fish have much lower total cholesterol numbers - and less heart attacks.
About 1/3 of heart attacks in Americans actually occur in people with a total cholesterol between 150 and 200. People with total cholesterol under 150 mg/dL do not get heart attacks as a general rule. Has your doctor told you this?
How Can Lifestyle Changes Make A Difference?
The effect of healthy lifestyle changes, such as being more active, stressing less and eating more fiber-rich fruits and vegetables and less fatty meats, is not only to halt further clogging of your heart blood vessels, but also to reverse the clogging that is there now. This process of healing begins within weeks and it is not unusual for patients to see dramatic improvements to their heart health within weeks! Patients who are loaded up with medications and unable to walk a block due to chest pain are often able to walk for a mile or more without heart medication following comprehensive lifestyle changes.
Essential lifestyle changes for improved heart health include:
1) Eat many fruits, vegetables and whole grains, as well as some fish and chicken (grilled or baked, not fried). Reduce red meat consumption, and limit foods high in sugar, salt and fat (with the exception of foods such as nuts, which have many positive health benefits, despite being a little higher in fat). In addition, try to avoid processed foods.
2) Do aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes daily, 5-6 days a week (this includes walking). Regular strength training, at least twice a week for 15-30 minutes, is also generally recomended for lean muscle tone and bone strength.
3) Engage regularly in activities to reduce stress such as yoga, meditation and/or prayer.
4) Cherish your relationships with family and friends. Humans are not wired to live in solitude. Surround yourself with people who are committed to healthy lifestyle changes. Support one another and share what you know.
Many people, including myself, have discovered that healthy lifestyle changes are the very best medicine in preventing, reversing and curing not just heart heart disease, but many other diseases and conditions as well.
Avoid the prospect of clutching your chest and succumbing to the "big one" someday!

Well, well, well. It looks like Eddie Murphy is close to signing a deal to host the 84th Academy Awards.
The funny man who’s headlined such comedies as Beverly Hills Cop, Daddy Day Care and the Shrek franchise is said to be the top choice for Oscar co-producer Brett Ratner.
Ratner is submitting Murphy’s name as his only choice to host the show at a meeting with Academy members this week.
The producer-director has reportedly had the actor in mind for some time after directing him in the upcoming action flick Tower Heist, which hits theatres this November.
While Murphy has reportedly shown interest in the gig, he’s not the only comic actor in the running.
Billy Crystal, who has hosted several times in the past, is said to be interested in returning.
BMS has been told that we could know something as soon as this week. We’ll keep you posted.
<<< Well now! I find this all very interesting since Eddie Murphy was snubbed at the Oscars when he was up for his role in 'Dreamgirls'. I remember when the winner was announced, Eddie was so angry, he left the ceremony, leaving Keith Washington to fill in for him when the cast performed songs from the movie. He did a very good job in 'Dreamgirls'. How the tide has turned...

Honesty was the best policy for one Chris Brown fan.
A young woman named Alisha has been rewarded by the R&B singer after she turned in a $22,000 Rolex he dropped during the Video Music Awards last week.
As a thank-you for handing over the gold-and-diamond watch Brown has promised Alisha tickets to an upcoming concert, backstage passes and a special meet-and-greet with him.
According to TMZ, Alisha contacted Brown after she read on the site that he was looking for her. His bodyguard never asked her name after she returned the watch to him.
During Brown's VMA performance, the Rolex got loose on his wrist, so he threw it onto a trampoline onstage -- but then someone jumped onto it and the pricey timepieces bounced into the crowd.
Alisha told TMZ she was "super excited" about Brown's offer and never expected anything in return for her honesty.
<<<<<Hats off to Chris Brown! Yes, we all know him seeking out Alisha was the right thing to do, but many times people don't do right. And while some will say he's only doing it to put forth a more positive image to the media, I say a lot of people have already formed an opinion of him, one way or the other, that is unwavering, so reaching out to an honest fan, and rewarding her, won't make much of a difference to change their minds. Kudos Breezy!

-- Stress doesn't just rattle your nerves and put you on edge. The effects of stress can include forgetfulness, sexual problems, insomnia, and hair loss.
When most of us think of the physical effects of stress, our minds jump to common complaints like headaches and upset stomachs. Stress, however, can affect many aspects of physical and mental health, ranging from hair, teeth, and skin to memory and concentration skills, and even how well we sleep. The good news is while these problems may seem serious, stress relief can lead to real improvements in your overall health and well-being.
Reduced Immunity
Excessive stress and anxiety can lead to reduced immunity and an increased chance of getting sick. This link between stress and the body’s ability to fight disease may go all the way back to childhood. Researchers have found that adolescents who were abused or experienced other intensely stressful situations as children were less able to ward off certain infections even years later. It’s crucial to keep daily stress under control as much as possible to offset the effects of past stress and encourage good health in the present.
Loss Of Focus
Bad news for stressed-out students cramming for exams — it turns out that being under pressure can affect how well our brains work. Specifically, one small study showed that medical students studying for board exams had more trouble focusing their attention than others who were not stressed. The good news? A month after the stressful period was over, the stressed group’s mental skills returned to normal.
Sexual Problems
The effects of stress can extend to the bedroom. While most men may experience erectile dysfunction from time to time, when it happens frequently, its underlying cause should be investigated. Causes of erectile dysfunction can include diabetes, high blood pressure, side effects of certain medications, and chronic stress. Stress can also contribute to a loss of sexual desire in both men and women.
Stress-Induced Hair Loss
Some amount of hair loss is normal — strands fall out over time and get replaced by new ones. However, when you’re under physical or emotional stress the normal shedding of 100 or so hairs a day can speed up to the point where half to three-quarters of your hair can fall out. Known as telogen effluvium, this diffuse and often stress-induced hair loss may not happen right away. In fact, it may take weeks or months after the stressful event for the hair to actually shed. Fortunately, after six to eight months this type of hair loss often improves.
Forgetfulness
We all have our moments of not being able to find our car keys, but research shows that the more stress we are under, the more frequent these mental lapses may become. In fact, not only can long-term stress (over a period of weeks or months) disrupt communication between brain cells, but even several hours of acute stress can affect the brain’s ability to store information and create solid memories. For many people, frequent bouts of forgetfulness can lead to fears about Alzheimer’s disease. But before jumping to conclusions, take a step back and consider whether any chronic stress in your life may be playing a role in memory issues.
Dental Problems
Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups — most of us are well-versed in what it takes to keep our teeth healthy. But how many of us realize that the effects of stress can impact dental health? During the day and even while sleeping, people under stress may clench their teeth or grind them back and forth against one another. This action, called bruxism, can not only wear down and damage your teeth, but may also cause temporomandibular joint problems (TMJ), leading to severe jaw and neck pain.
Loss Of Sleep
Few things are as frustrating as lying awake in bed, unable to sleep. While insomnia can stem from a variety of sources, one to consider is stress. Stress can cause a number of sleep-related issues including trouble falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, and poor-quality sleep. Try to get stress relief through regular exercise, enjoyable hobbies, and spending time with loved ones.
Substance Abuse
For individuals struggling with alcohol or drugs, stress can wreak havoc on efforts to remain substance-free. Even for people who have abstained for a long time, stress can play a significant role in contributing to a relapse. Interestingly, not only can stress in adulthood contribute to substance abuse, but experiencing a severe psychosocial stressor during childhood can also increase your risk for drug or alcohol abuse as an adult.
Skin Problems
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, our internal thoughts and feelings can actually affect our external appearance. This is particularly true when it comes to stress. One of the effects of stress is skin that’s more sensitive to irritants. Stress can worsen pre-existing conditions including rosacea, psoriasis, and acne, as well as dehydrate the skin, permitting allergens, bacteria, and pollutants to irritate it.

Actress Stacey Dash has confirmed she'll no longer be on the hit VH1 drama Single Ladies. I told you a while ago she wouldn't be returning, and that her exit was surrounded by controversy and backstage problems. Talk on the set was Dash was feuding with Co-star LisaRaye, (LisaRaye denied that) and that Dash shows up late for shooting and wouldn't know her lines. The Queen Latifah produced show has been a surprise hit for the cable network. So why leave? Dash issued a statement that while she enjoyed her role, shooting in Atlanta makes it impossible to be with her children in Los Angeles. She wishes the show well. Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

In case you have forgotten about this mother's story, here's a recap. Early this year, Kelley Williams-Bolar was charged with, and jailed for, larceny and record tampering after using her father's address to send her children to school in a better district. The larceny charge ended up being dropped, but they record tampering charge remained and she was convicted for it. Because of this conviction, Williams-Bolar cannot get her teaching certificate, thus stalling her career.
Now, according to Forbes, the Ohio Parole Board has given its recommendation that the governor not grant Willams-Bolar a pardon. Of course, the final decision rests on the governor. I hope she receives the pardon; it makes absolutely no sense that one should receive a felony for trying to give children a shot at a better education.<

Sloane Briles, pictured above, threw his son off a sightseeing boat, according to the NY Daily News. Briles says that he was just horsing around and that the public is overreacting.
"I was not trying to kill my son. We were playing in the shallows," Sloane Briles told KTLA-TV on Tuesday. "I discussed it with him. We'd jump in together and just thought it would be funny, ha ha."
However, passengers on the boat saw things differently; two people in particular called 9-1-1 when they saw the boy go overboard:
Two of the 85 people who were on the sunny afternoon tour expressed shock and disgust in 911 tapes released Tuesday.
"I'm on a boat tour called the Queen, and there's a man who just threw his son overboard," a woman told an emergency dispatcher. "This man has been bad on our whole trip, and he's swimming back to our boat now."
Another 911 caller said she thought Briles was "drunk and violent."
According to the spokesman for the Orange County sheriff, Briles was arguing with his girlfriend on the boat and when his son became "visibly upset", he threw the boy overboard. It si also being said that Briles was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Briles was arrested for child endangerment and resisting arrest.<

Katt Williams was in the news again for a racially-charged rant during a performance at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ. Check the video below:
Today, on CNN, Williams said that while he isn't sorry for what he said during his performance, he apologizes to anyone who thought he was being hateful.
Video of the exchange, delivered during a performance at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, was posted online. Williams singled out a man seated near the stage and asked him if he was Mexican.
"Do you remember when white people used to say 'Go back to Africa,' and we'd have to tell them we don't want to? So if you love Mexico, (expletive), get the (expletive) over there!" Williams said to the man.
It turned into a back-and-forth profanity-laced argument with the man, Williams exclaimed, "We were slaves, (expletive). You just work like that as landscapers."
On Saturday, Williams said the man started heckling him first with an expletive aimed at the United States.
"If a person starts their heckling with 'f' America, then that gives me the right to defend my country," Williams said.
"I don't think I need to apologize for being pro-American. (Source: CNN)"
As an empathic person, I can see why some may be offended by what Williams said, but I can't say that Williams was wrong. What are your thoughts on this?<

According to CNN, Dr. Maya Angelou believes the inscription on the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial makes King seem arrogant. The inscription is based on a statement made by King and it currently says: "I was a drum major for justice, peace, and righteousness." However the original statement was this:
"If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter."
Angelou believes that leaving out the "if" changes the statement, and not for the good. She is hoping that the inscription will be changed at some point.
"It should not be seen like he was so full of himself. Because he was not. He was a very humble man," she said. "It is not an apt reportage of what Dr. King said. It is an edited statement."
"My desire to have it changed is for the honesty, the reality of the man. So he can be seen as he really was," Angelou said.
While I understand what she is saying, and think that she has a point, I don't believe that people reading the inscription would walk away thinking that King was an arrogant man. I would think that putting the entire statement on the memorial would be better, not because of a possibility of King being perceived as arrogant, but because the statement in it's entirety is much more moving. Do you think Angelou is overreacting or is she on point?
*****UPDATE*****
According to The Washington Post, the executive architect behind the memorial says that the full quote cannot fit, so the inscription cannot be changed.
“The space is not there” and the overall design and layout of the inscription on the statue would not permit it, he said. “We don’t have an enormous palette here.”
He said he has had no official calls for the inscription to be changed.

No offense, but I know some white people came up with this ish. How many research dollars did it take to come up with THIS? And who had the idea to even investigate this ish for REAL? So, they're still going to KILL the animal, they're just going to do it with less pain. WTF??? When they start selling this crap - STEM CELL sausage, it'll be the day I quit eating meat. Pig cells fed with horse fetal serum...yeah...BOO!

MAASTRICHT, The Netherlands
Researchers say the advent of "pain-free" meat produced from stem cells could save millions of animals from the abattoir and help the environment through substantially reduced energy, land and water use.
Dutch researcher Dr. Mark Post, of Maastricht University, predicts the first synthetic sausage could be just six months away.
"I'm hopeful we can have a hamburger in a year," he told New Scientist.
But a major stumbling block will be turning cultured meat into a tasty, textured and nutritious option that could make mouths water in supermarkets and restaurants.
The time and cost involved are also major hurdles.
Post said the meat -- pig cells fed with horse fetal serum -- he had grown did not look appetizing because it was white.
"It's white because there's no blood in it, and very little myoglobin, the iron-bearing protein," he said. "We are looking at ways to build up the myoglobin content to give it color."
Farmers do not feel threatened by the new technology, according to the Herald Sun. A Cattle Council of Australia spokesman said the development would not threaten farmers given the difficulty in creating a protein-rich substance, and the sheer amount that would need to be produced.

Cuban man proud of his 24 digits
They call him "Twenty-Four." Yoandri Hernandez Garrido's nickname comes from the six perfectly formed fingers on each of his hands and the six impeccable toes on each foot.

A Cuban man with polydactyly, a condition where a child is born with extra fingers and toes, says that his extra digits are a blessing.
Yoandri Hernandez Garrido, nicknamed "Twenty-Four" for the total number of his fingers and toes, says the condition has set him apart and enabled him to make a living, MSNBC reports. One traveler paid $10 for a picture with him, Hernandez said, a lot of money in a country with an average salary of just $20 a month.
"It's thanks to my 24 digits that I'm able to make a living, because I have no fixed job," Hernandez said, as reported by MSNBC.
Though polydactyly is relatively common, Hernandez's condition is different because his extra digits are perfectly formed.
A prominent Cuban orthopedist who is also one of Fidel Castro's doctors visited Hernandez when he was young and he declared that in all his years of travel he had never seen such a case of well-formed polydactyly, MSNBC reports.
"He was very impressed when he saw my fingers," said Hernandez, as reported by MSNBC.
Hernandez, 37, says he was never discriminated against for the extra digits. On the contrary, he says they have made him quite popular.
"Since I was young, I understood that it was a privilege to have 24 digits. Nobody has ever discriminated against me for that," he said, as reported by MSNBC. "On the contrary, people admire me and I am very proud. I have a million friends, I live well."

So now, depending on who you sleep with, you may be entitled to a scholarship!!! WOW! My question is and always will be, how do you PROVE IT?? PULEEZ!!!

This year, when prospective students apply to Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., they will be asked for a little more personal information than usual.
The small liberal arts school, located west of Chicago, has become the first in the nation to add a question about sexual orientation to its college application. The question, which asks, "Would you consider yourself to be a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) community?", appears in a list of optional questions on the 2012-13
(PHOTOS: Queer Kids Coming Out in America.)
Answers to the question, which the university said will not be a determining factor in admissions, will be used to help determine eligibility for institutional "enrichment" scholarships given to applicants from underrepresented groups. By adding the question, LGBT students will now be considered among other groups of underrepresented students for the financial award, which covers up to one third of the cost of tuition.
Gary Rold, dean of admissions, told the Chicago Sun-Times that the question was also added as a way to ensure that the university is providing a welcoming and accepting environment for all students. "We try really hard to take good care of students, have them graduate and be successful citizens in the world," he said. "The only way to do that is to meet people where they really are."
In return, Elmhurst, which is affiliated with the United Church of Christ (a church which is openly welcoming of LGBT people), has been praised by gay-rights activists for including the question. Shane Windmeyer, executive director of the advocacy group Campus Pride, applauded the decision and told The Chronicle of Higher Education that he expects more colleges to follow suit. "In the next 10 years, we'll look back and ask why colleges didn't make this change much sooner," he said.
But, according to the Chronicle, currently only a handful of colleges even go as far as to probe students about their interest in LGBT issues, let alone ask them to declare their own sexual orientation. One such university, Dartmouth College, asks students to choose three selections from a list of personal interests that includes "gender identity" and "LGBT community." Additionally, board members of the Common Application, an admission application accepted by 456 member colleges, rejected the idea of adding optional questions on sexual orientation and gender identity to the application earlier this year, saying the "potential benefits to adding the question would be outweighed by the anxiety and uncertainty student may experience when deciding if and how they should answer it."
Still, though Elmhurst may be alone in its decision for the time being, in asking the question upfront on their application, the university took a step to show sexuality is out in the open at their school, which may be a welcome message to LGBT students who often seek college environments where they know they will be welcomed with open arms.
